Later next week, Falken sends a letter via USPS to the fire dept to inform them his house is on fire. j/k Hope everyone up there is safe. The tornados are bearing down on Indiana now, and my car's at the Mazda dealer for repair so hopefully its safe :-/

Hopefully it dies down by the time it reaches NE Ohio... I'm at work until 6am and don't like driving my 8 when its crappy out and you can't see 10 feet in front of you due to the crazy amounts of rain.

Ha, I was at the gym and they made all of us go to the locker rooms. Some guys felt it was necessary to choose the "closest" locker room and were hanging out in the womens locker room. The faces on women who came out of the showers and had no clue there was a tornado were priceless!!!

Sounds like I need to start going to gyms and walking into women's locker rooms - "oops! sorry, i thought there was a tornado."

We don't have basements here. We did have a tropical storm yesterday but it was a joke. Any average summer rainstorm is worse than what we got and Chicago's weather yesterday made our little TS like like a yard sprinkler in terms of ferocity. The weather channel kept hyping it up though just to be dramatic and scare people.

This storm that we just had was worse in some places than others. A funnel cloud went through just north of my home. There were touchdowns in the area. The thunder was a continuous rumble in the background, only interrupted by a near by lightning strike and the associated loud thunder.

Sounds like me after I've had some onion rings.

A tornado did touch down in Bloomingdale (an EF1). It traveled along Army Trail Rd. The storm caused $500K in damage to St. Charles HS. There were power outages, but nothing like we has last Aug with the high straight line winds.

You guys are all crazy :D:

The lightning was awesome though ... it was massive! I heard the voltage (amperage?) that night alone was equal to what we normally get in 6 months. Bean and cheese nachos notwithstanding :wink2:

I guess half a million people were without power for a day or so. We had lots of flickering, but the power stayed on. Powah!
