In our local papers, they are offering 8's with a 3k manufacturer rebate, or 0% finiancing. Byeres Mazda, and if it is a manu rebate, then i assume anyone can get it.

Yeah I would definately like some more info on this as I'm in the market for a new car in the next month with the RX-8 as one of the top candidates.

Oh yes, Alphapenguin - by all means, please find it. You'd make for a lot of happy near-term buyers if you did! :)

Thanks for posting the ad. It gives a starting place to ask questions. $3,000 plus $25.999 equals about $29,000. The MSRP for a 6-sp that looks like the one in the picture is $27.200. So what are they adding to the base 6-sp to cover the $1,800 gap (claimed $3K savings, but only $1,200 price difference)? If it's added equipment, is it what you want? Would they give you a base 6-sp for $24,200? A base AT for $23,800?
Let us know what they answer.

Yeah, the fine print at the bottom may have something to do with it - "on select vehicles in stock". "Prices reflect rebate to dealer." Whoops, sorry - we sold that one already. We do have another right over here though similar to it <muffled - for MSRP>...

i would only assume the 3k rebate would be off the MSRP price on the sticker, and they have soooooooo many in stock it is sick. I feel so sad that I see so many there. They still have cars from august sittin there. I really dont think it would be hard to get them for 3k off MSRP. Believe me I bet they want to get rid of them.

i already got my car so i wont be asking them for n e price, but for anyone else who will inquire, I am curious how long you can go too.

I looked at thier site and mazdausa's site. The advertized car is a yellow one with the sport pkg with an msrp of 28,300. So they're offering it at $2300 off. Not bad, but not 3K. Maybe Mazda Corp is offering rebates off the yellow since they're discontinued.

The problem with dealer advertising is that unless they specifically state something, it's not true. As posted above, it appears they've added sometime on (or jacked up "their" price) in order to offer $3k off.

I speak from experience on this- I proofed auto ads for almost four years, and you wouldn't believe the crap they will write just to get people in the door.

Accoding to Edmunds, there is a $500 cash rebate on the RX8 from Mazda through January 04.

http://www.edmunds.com/incentives/RebateController?step=2&modelId=100502665&setzip=89014&state=NV&tid=edmunds.n.incentivesindex.incentives.2.2.Mazda *

I tried a few zip codes and they all stayed at $500.

I live in the Vegas area and there aren't too many on the roads here, but that may be due more to the bad dealer rep than the appeal of the car.

Looks like that's the recent college grad rebate.

That's exactly what it is- if you read the fine print on edmunds it says that too. It's not a rebate, really, more of an across the board discount on any Mazda car for graduates.

Actually, Before I got my car and before the massively discounted it, they were easily offering 500$ off, so I can assume it may have been a rebate for the 8, or any to all of the mazdas. not too sure, but I'm thinking if they were offering 500$ off the MSRP easily, then i smell a rebate they wont mention. Not including the new grad rebate. But who cares about a 500$ rebate when you can already get the car for almost invoice.

You can easily talk them down $500, but there aren't currently any official rebates/cash-back offers on the car from Mazda. As soon as there is one it'll be reported in Automotive News, and I (or someone else) will post it on here.

But grats on getting the car so cheaply :)

Do not get to excited about those "rebates". Finally you will find out that they added a paint protecting kit (bullshit) and charge you $1500 for it plus an appearance package for another 2K and so on... you'll be lucky getting it below msrp...
