I know I've read about this somewhere on here before, but can't find it now...how do you clean/prevent the rust that develops on the brake disks?

Thanks

They rust when they get wet. So long as its just surface rust a quick trip out and a few sharp brakes later and they'll be clean...

Mine rust after every time I wash her, which is weekly.

Just drive it....the rust will dissappear.

I saw an RX-8 at a dealer.

The car has been sitting there for over a month waiting to be sold.

The brakes are all rusted. Will the dealer clean them as part of predelivery inspection ?

Thanks for the question. I was going to do a search for it. I drive at least 60 miles a day, and I see it every weekend through the very open wheels. Is the concensus that this is normal? I'v never noticed it on any other car that I have owned.

yes it is normal. its just more noticeable on a car with larger wheels that make the rotors more visible.
