how're the dynamics of the game?? another Auto Modellista mega-fake, or is it an improvement on the usual NfS engine??

I got it. It is very ricey, soundtracks and stickers throughout. Modeling and dynamics are pretty good and seem better than NFS Porsche Unleashed. No realistic car damage at the behest of manufacturers. Still a real kick to play, especially in drift mode. It's a good time-waster with a friend, but it's still no GT3.

Why would it matter if it is ricey?

A game is supposed to fun to play. I really don't care if the game is "ricey" it is still a blast to play. No matter how unrealistic.

if you like the midnight club II style of game, then you'll be in love with NFS. i bought this a few days ago and i seriously have had a hard time putting the controller down and making myself do anything productive since then. it is THAT fun.

this game is an exact transplat of the fast and the furious onto a video game. ill admit some of the the modifcations included in the game are 'ricey' or untasteful, but its all in good fun. for the most part the modification aspect of the game is awesome, there are about a million different combinations of just exterior parts you could play with. the gameplay itself is very fun, NFS gives a better depicition of speed than any other game before it. the designers used alot of blurring and camera shake and other special effects to create one wild ride. try the drag race mode and you'll see what i mean. the drift mode is also tons of fun, i can play it all day. oh yah, and did i mention the graphics? probably the most aesthetically pleasing racing game i have ever seen.

This game is so fun, I can't believe people are mad that it is ricey. It is just a damn game enjoy it. I can barely put the controler down long enough to type this. I love the real Sim games like GT1,2,3 and can't wait for 4 but this game is just so much fun. It is kinda fun throwing the huge wings on there to get styling points, and having the pulsing neons. If you play it I bet you get addicted to it. Enjoy.

Auto Modelista is CRAP. The concept might have been cool. A Cell/toon shaded racer? Yeah, OK....BUT NO! CRAP!

NFS: Underground is awesome. We picked up it up for the Xbox soon as it came out. Most ppl already said it, but yeah, it's no GT3/4/whatever. It's not a true simulator, but for what it is, it's amazing.

Only thing is, it seems you're just in one big city, and all the tracks are THE SAME CRAP OVER AND OVER. Just some variations like, reverse...or half of one track that merges with another track you've raced (because it is in the same city they'll just combine tracks). To me, that gets a little old. The computer is, as predicted, cheap. For the most part, they're handling is primo. And there's always one guy in the race that is what I call the flawless driver. He'll rarely hit anything. Drives perfectly in the middle of the road, never touching the sides. Dodges oncoming traffic like a breeze. To beat this guy, you have to be just as perfect, or force him into a crash by pushing him into a wall or something. And when the computer does crash, they seem to always align themselves perfectly to the road and keep driving. BOGUS, IMO. But whatever.

The drag mode is pretty sweet...specially when you unlock some awesome cars ie SKYLINE!!! And drift mode is bad ass. Anybody top 160,000 drift points, yet?

Bottom line..Gameplay is llike the other NFS titles. Similar engine (while, not being GT, has always been one of the better "other" racing games out there), just no cops dropping explosive barrels on you ;)

What do you mean free parts? Where do you do this at? Do you get to keep the parts or do you have to do the code everytime?

EDIT* nevermind I unlocked everything today and bought everything. You get a lot of money at the end.

oh yeah I got over 530,000 points in my 350z. It unlocked all kinds of shit. my little bar at the bottom doesn't even move anymore.

I've been playing it on the PC since the demo came out, then bought the game when it came out, really fun game, you get more reputation points the more "ricey" you make your car. Force Feedback steering makes it quite a bit more fun.

Some users might not enjoy games that are "ricey", Im not exactly the videogame type(like really into it)...I'm just a bad example of Ebert&roeper I guess

I know ;)

To clarify, I meant that NFS Underground isn't what GT3 is, nor what GT4 will be -- a racing sim. NFS is more arcade in style...

Sik,

Which course did you get over 530k with? That's pretty impressive. I haven't tried drifting with another car other than the Miata I chose in the beginning (I only drift in Underground mode). 160 in course 3 or 4 is my record.

On course 8 with my 350z. you have to get going fast, and chain the drifts. I dropped a 50k pointer at the end and would have had a lil over 600k.
