I was shopping around for another vehicle for myself, and I came across a 2002 Nissan Pathfinder with only 50000K miles on. Their asking a very fair price on it, however as I did my research on edmonds, internetautoguide, etc they all said it uses premium gas. Anyone know why that is? Or is that only a recommendation?

these days SUVs are getting harder and harder to sell. im pretty certain it does not need premium, but I am also pretty certain that while being one of the top rated SUVs for years, its pretty gas hungry, its going to be eating up gas like crazy.

*edit, then again it cant be any worse than the rx8 :p

There is a dealer down here on the East Coast of Florida right now..........New Symrna Beach(I belileve) that is selling GM SUV's(the big ones like Suburban's, Tahoes, etc. at supposedly $8k to $10k off and get this................if you buy one, you get your choice of either a brand new Malibu or Cobalt for free! :Eyecrazy:
Yeah, I'm sure you'll it will be a base model and you'll have to pay tax/tag/title(and probably a dealer prep fee on the free one), but if you were really in the market for an gas guzzler SUV.............it might be freaking worth it!

I've got an '02 Pathfinder...bought it brand new, it's got 107k miles on it, and is still running strong on the cheap stuff. You don't need to run it with premium

my uncle had one, it was a great car, he even rolled it over a few times (I am not talking about the odometer) and walked away without a scratch. They were able to fix it after that too. His only complaint was that it is underpowered I think.
