for less than 10$ you can get a gloss black enamel paint for plastics, sand the center caps LIGHTLY, clean, dry, spray 2-3 thin coats, then 3-5 coats of clearcoat, and its a dead match for black powdercoat.

Paint is a lot easier of an operation to perform, you can even do it with the tires still mounted. However, I would put powdercoat against paint anyday for a wheel, brake caliper, engine part, etc.

FWIW I do powdercoating from time to time, and I have my entire rx-7 engine's worth of parts powdercoated. I have done paint before and powdercoat holds up much better in the long term...it doesnt fade, turn colors, bubble or chip off as easily as paint.

I have a local friend who works at a powdercoat plant, they do all sorts of work for the military on metal parts. The reason for this is that PC lasts longer and holds up better in extreme conditions.

My post i was talking about the center caps.
Powdercoat the metal wheels.
but he had the stock center caps which are grey plastic. you cant powdercoat plastic. I was showing how for 10$ you can have them match the wheels.

My bad, I did fail to see that you were specifying the center caps, and not advocating painting the whole wheels instead of powdercoating.

Yes, plastic can't be powdercoated, but would be easy enough to scuff and paint which is a far better option than leaving them shiny.
