The tip is a bolt on, it was supposed to come with the exhaust. But mine did not come with one, I bought it off lazi, he took care of me, and got HKS to send a tip directly to me no charge. :)

I don't know if you saw the other threads about the tip, but make sure the exhaust gases have no space to pass by the tip bolt opening..
It's a great exhaust isn't it!

Ti tip does not say HKS, the stainless one does it says HKS on the bottom center of the tip.

had this exhaust for awhile now, I love it.

the problem with the tip is that the exhaust heat is hot enough to discolor it. So mine went from looking like that, to having purple, blue, and orange all over it within a month. it was splotchy too, not a nice rainbow effect.

Its loud, louder than most exhaust I've heard. Its livable tho, it sounds nice, there is no drone. if your going on the highway cruising at 75mph in 6th gear with windows up, you can barely notice it.

Opening that box must have been the best feeling. I am soon ordering the HKS Legamax, I dont think I can deal with the single side. Although I do think the Hi power sounds better

No rattle, IMHO the HKS Hi-Power is one of the bestlooking and sounding exhaust for the rx8.

I'm dead serious. I've owned a half dozen exhausts, the hi-power was bar none the worse sounding exhaust I've ever had. I sold it for a loss within a month because I was utterly embarrassed to drive my car. AND I was turbo at the time too, so I can't imagine how horrible it would be with a NA car.

ive had the exhaust on for about 2-3 months now and soo far i love how it sounds, get alot of great compliments about it doesnt sound ricey. sounds nowhere close to a fartcan.

Your the first person I've heard who does not like the HKS. It sound nothing like a fart can, I've heard the Borla in person, the HKS sounds/looks better. My opinion and form the guy that owns the Borla.

I don't care one way or another - but I wanted to express my opinion before people read the thread and decided the hi-power was the best thing since sliced bread, buy the exhaust, and then find out it sounds like ass.

I think the largest contributor to the dislike of the sound is the small muffler, and the fact that there is only one. The exhaust itself is well built, I liked it better than the legamax in that regard (which I also owned)

I know what you mean. I previously had the SP2 on my car before I swapped to the Hi-Power... to be honest daily driving at low RPMS is the only time the exhaust gets to me. I think it sounds wonderful at WOT. I can definitely understand you thinking it's loud, it WAILS when you get on it NA!

I agree, its not that loud. Heck going on highway, with windows up, can't even here it.

The only negative comment about the sound I've heard about this exhaust is from mysql.

A fried has a 70mm header back with a header, sounds like crap, and is way too loud!

My wife's car has a CAI and 2.5" exhaust...it's damn near unbearable in the mornings...BTW, I still love my Hi-Power!!! Just wanted to keep the thread on track...

Well, after much research, I was going to go with the RB Rev8 exhaust at first, but I think I'm going to go with the HKS Hi due to the weight saving and the sound (plus I have the stock cat which I know keeps the noise down). Plus I like the unique look of the single pipe, and the fact that it's not a true dual anyway, so I might as well make it what it really should be. Plus it's something different. Videos and pictures to come.

i used to own an all n/a built 1999 prelude with a straightpiped 3" exhaust. it had a resonator and then a turndown under the car.

that thing was fucking quick, but THAT sounded like a fartcan honda.

the HKS HI-Power does not, IMO. the only time mine gets raspy is between 4-6k, and i don't have a cat on mine.

I just installed the RB midpipe last night to add to my RB intake, duct, exhaust. Here's a sound clip, I think it's pretty nice and not too rice, sounds awesome at wide open throttle.

So I received my HKS Hi Power Exhaust on saturday. I of course slapped it on as soon as I could. I have to say no videos can really do justice to the sound of this exhaust. At idle it sounds well awesome. Well really at every RPM the exhaust really sounds good. Doesnt sound ricey atleast not IMO it sounds like a real sports car. However for myself I do believe its to loud for my daily driving. The night after I installed it I stopped by Home Depot to pick up some things and on my way out I was cruising around 2000 rpm in 2nd gear and set off a car alarm! It was quite humorous. The exhaust almost seems like it has a megaphone attached to the muffler.

I for one like the entire idea behind the hks hi power. I like the single out since really it wasnt a true dual exhaust car in the first place. I like the fact the exhaust is extremely light and definately free flowing.

Overall I like the exhaust. The only complaint I can make is the exhaust is a bit to loud for my normal driving.(of course its just my opinion) However if I was 20 again id probably say its not loud enough. If you want a head turner this is it. It will grab peoples attention in a 2.5 mile radius:lol:

Anyway I plan on adding the ApexI active tail silencer to the exhaust. I feel for my daily driving this is the answer or atleast thats what I gathered from mysql's thread about it(the silencer in the hi power exhaust). Atleast then when I do go to the track or meet.. I can remove the silencer and have the extremely vocal exhaust system.

ok. got a weird thing going on. at idle, when the rpms dip from time to time, im pretty sure my exhaust squeaks. at first i thought it was a belt, but then i left my car on and just listened under my car, and it is coming from somewhere on my exhaust. any ideas?

did you tighten everything. That's the only thing I can think of. I've never heard of an exhaust "squeaking" maybe your talking about brakes.

i have it with a dual resonated midpipe. both from fluid motorsports. i love them.

my car has eibach 1.2" drop all around and bilstein shocks. Very low and it does scrape a lot.

i love the sound though. anyone lookin for this exhaust can get it from me new through fluid motorsports :)
