I don't like it.

Im not a fan either. Maybe is because the car isnt lowered and has no app. package, i dont know. I like the rims, just dont think the color scheme meshes with this particular 8, but hey, its a gorgeous car nonetheless:)

:smoker: Looking good. But I think a 8.5 and in the back 9.5 with a 32 off set all around would have been sick!!!!!!!!
Also you should lower your car ;)

looks ok but would look great with tein-s tech springs and a appearance package or ms kit.

Yeah, I'm thoroughly disgusted at myself at the moment. I should have lowered and had a kit done first. Then at least the damn pictures would do the wheels a little justice. My car looks naked, and I still have weeks to go before I even get the kit, and then having it painted. I may just head back to the dealer and have the OEM's put back on. The ole ego is taking a major bashing in my own mind, no matter what any one else thinks. Its one of those WITF was I thinking moments..I'm ashamed to even drive it. :( Poor baby..I can't believe I did this to my car. Isn't there a What not to do to your car thread somewhere???? *sigh*

ashamed to drive it? what?

i will drive to alabama if you want to switch back to the stock rims, i'll give you mind along with my >10k miles toyo t1r 245/40/zr18s. i think it looks really nice. if you dont like them, feel free to give them to me. i'll appreciate the hell out of them.

I have my stockers....thank the good lord I had enough sense to keep them. They are on loan actually to a buddy, while his get painted. I may try powdercoating before I totally give up. It's not really the wheels its the order in the way I did things..and I'm pissed that I didn't listen to those that I've asked advice of, and gotten..

I am SUCH A NOOB!!!!!!! :rollingla

OK.....Saturday afternoon, different perspective after a good friend called, and we discussed this....Considering this was my first set of after market wheels or major mod I'd ever done, well ok...I goofed, because I didn't do my homework..but I didn't know the right questions to ask either.... so lesson learned.

I learned that it was the offset which was not much, but just enough to look like I had put hotwheels on my car. :rollingla:...I didn't know that a 5mm change could be so drastic...but then again I didn't ask. I had read that = 48 was ok, but I still didn't understand what the changes in offset would do......NOW I DO...I was thinking that the wheels would stick out from under the fenders, not drop from under the fender wells and leave huge holes in there....trial and error.... SO Monday hopefully I'll get a call from a guy that can set me up with Coilovers...and I'll drop her.

you live and you learn right.

i LOVE the copper red, its beautiful! The wheels compliment it well, tho lowering and some form of body kit/appearance pack would help you a long way!

Thanks Anthony.. I look and look and look at her sitting in the drive. I love the wheels I have to admit..and don't care what any one else really thinks. In asking for an honest opinion I gained the insight into the fact as to why she didn't look right, and I already recognized that..rolling though you can't see it, so I didn't notice it right off the bat, I was so busy looking at the wheels themselves. In that one image that you posted It's also not as prevalent..

What a difference a few days makes. She's sitting basically until I get the coilovers done, ( couple of weeks) not because I'm ashamed to drive her like I said before, but because of the body roll. I can NOT take it easy in this car, and living in the mountains It is too tempting to get on it, so seeing as I don't have to go out, I havent. The heat index here is 103, and theres a severe air alert as well, and in this area its rare, so living at a higher elevation it doesn't effect me as much, hence another reason to stay in.

Anthony that is a stock lip under there..most of the other pics I guess didn't show it, but its factory. The only change was the wheels. ;) It's different, maybe because its a Shinka...I don't know. Most others have the airdam. I'm never seen one without either..

and after a further look I realized you did a little PS for me....thanks. I can see the difference in how they are going to look.

Matt, I appreciate that, but they are growing on me. Just having a bit of self doubt. Never have done a major mod on any car before.. I do love your wheels though, and one of the other guys is having his painted, but I don't know anything else. He has my stockers now..

Hopefully by the Road rally she'll be lowered and I'll be happy..It's killing me not being able to push her the way I do. I'm just a bit anxious yet, because of the offset. It's amazing at what 5mm does to the set up.

Kit is in transit..painted hopefully by Christmas if not sooner. Actually I'm glad that I don't have the appearance package...I'll wrap up the bumpers and keep them..and be starting a teaser once it gets here, and get the money to have her painted.

I would have gone with 19's, any 18" rims look smaller than stockies so it will look wierd... just my opinion

I don't think those style wheels look good on the 8. Just me though.
