ps: oh the zombies are a mix of Half life 2 zombies (the really fast one) and like the shitty slow zombies

1. I'd use a browning 50. cal machine gun mounted on, you guessed it, medieval shields
2. I would be on the tower over looking the front entrance, cus thats where you get the most kills
3. I'd be paired with Cav because at least if something goes wrong and I run away, I won't feel as bad

I know that's the blank adapter, the main reason I chose that picture was because of the size and it had the night sight on it. The Mark 19 is too heavy and eats ammo too quick, plus those ammo cans of 40mm are heavy as f*** to carry. Ask me how I know.

A barrel support doesnt change the gun's principal operating characteristics. The rounds are the same in terms of size, receiver is the same, barrel length looks unchanged.

Well then flame thrower (i know noob mistake...) but we are in a stone castle that is impossible for them to burn down. So we can simply fire away from the tower and watch them run around on fire lighting others on fire. If they get inside the castle tho, then the flame thrower would not be a good idea.

WWII had some great Chemical weapons - Especially the Germans and the British -everything left over from trench warfare in WWI, plus Soman, Sarin, Sabin, and mustard.... just a matter of finding one that is heavy enough that it will not rise upward and will settle nicely around the moat, - and Wales is cold and foggy, and then we must drop enough on our rotting friends to give them the dead bug shakes - wait a couple of days for winds to dispurse the chemicals, and then we can wander down in chem gear and pick their pockets.

Also Britian has lots of crows and ravens - gallows birds that like rotting flesh - this may explain why you don't get too many zombies just walking around outside there....

And since the Zombies are really into attacking the Castle, what say we pop out that secret door and nip over to the Pub for some fish and chips...Wales is a bit Celtic and there is this guy called Brave Heart.....

eventually the zombie bodies will pile so high that they will walk over each up and right over the walls. explosives are the only way to keep the bodies dispersed. however, repeated explosives might also damage the walls.

its a lose-lose situation against zombies. the only real solution is to go to a far off island in the south pacific and hope the zombies dont find you. hopefully all the zombies will eventually starve to death without learning they can feed on other animals.

Chemicals wouldn't kill something that is undead.
An ideal location is a point surrounded by huge canyons. The undead would walk off the cliff's and fall into the canyon's. The smell would get bad, but pouring flammable liquids down the ravine periodically, would keep the amount of rot down.

Utilizing simple blades on trailers would be an efficient barrier. The dead walk into the blades get chopped up. The trailers can be moved back, the fallen bodies incinerated. Move the blades back into position, etc. There would be work involved but we are talking survival.

The undeadness and the ability to transmit this by a bite is interesting - obviously it is some kind of disease - how close is this to the bugs that cause vampires and werewolves? Can we develop a vaccine? Since the bodies are described as 'rotting' this means there is some bacterial action here - can we get them to rot faster? I know a nastly little bug that can eat flesh to the bone in a matter of hours - and it even bit a Canadian Prime minister once.... Can we kill them with something Canadian?

WWII guns, I'd take a MG42. I've fired a full-auto 8mm. With the abuse it gives your shoulder, I can only imagine what it does to the receiving end.

Give me an Enfield no. 4 with a scope and i would show you some dead zombies. I would also have a 1911 on my hip.

I would use flamethrowers at the choke points like the gates. I would also have .50 browings on all the towers with overlapping fire along with smaller caliber machine guns along the walls. I would prefer to have M1 garands for the rest of the bunch, but i would take some thomspons and M1 carbines for the smaller statured people. Women probably dont like shooting 30-06s much. The rest of them that arent able to shoot are ammo runners keeping everyone supplied.

well while all you did that........i'd come across an old M4 Sherman tank with a full tank of gas and barrels of fuel in reserve. Just screw that fuckin hatch down as tight as it would go.....and go zombie squishing. Welch Castles were built with dumping boiling water and oil in mind, they even had little entrances that allowed invaders part way in, then trapped them in areas where they could get dumped on with more effect....Since Zombies can't feel burning stuff - they just kind of grope around flaming and sizzling - maybe we could use liquid nitrogen instead, and freeze them into immobility - then some one like Razz could wander about tapping them with hammers, shattering them into little lumps of frozen Zombie stir-fry...

Even during the Revolutionary war, there were two old gals who took command of a cannon and made a hash of the British, and in Vietnam, there is a classic picture of an Asian mother, baby in one arm, automatic locked and loaded in the other...

The problem with most of the WWII guns is recoil and not enough punch - so I suppose a Tommy gun or one of the Japanese repeating guns would do a little crowd clearing -

The real issue is mass destruction - and mess - (some one has to clean up and I suspect you warriors would find something better to do with your spare time) - thus flame throwers, chemicals, land mines, explosives, bugs, etc. have more appeal than a simple bench rifle.....

.303 brit = 2224 ft pounds muzzle energy
.30-06 = 2820 ft pounds
8mm Mauser = 2102 ft pounds

AK47 7.62x39mm = 1527
.223 (5.56) = 1282.

Agreed, that was still the era of "as big as can be shouldered". Before they realized that you don't need all that punch to put a man down, and controlability is a very important factor. The 30 carbine didn't have that much muzzle energy, but has a rounded nose so it dumps all it's energy quickly.

A Thompson machine gun is .45ACP, handgun round. Typically 230gr bullet moving about 850fps.

Cross cuts are for the movies. It's the bullet placement that counts! A shot in the arm with a JHP 45 is not as good as a hit in the head with a 22LR
