So, there wasn't much interest in our attempt to organize an event for F440 Go Kart (http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=149319).

What can we organize that you will be interested in? And when would you like to do it?

Also, are 2 events per month too many? Would 1 per month be more realistic?

Annual Cruise - Sat, Aug 16, 2008

I would definitely like to do our annual cruise to Whistler, Lillooet, and Duffy Lake.

If nothing else gets organized, I would like this one to happen.

I'd definitely sign up for it. But I'd have to apply for a 2nd mortgage to pay for the gas.....:lol2: j/k.

What? that's your first post Natalie? What the heck! I also don't agree with your signature :)

It's not money when it's pure love.... nothing wasted. :)
Tim can agree with that, see the stuff he does to the interior of his car.

BTW Tim, I got the Lexol that you recommended and tried it out. It doesn't make the shiny or anything, but it does seem to make the leather seats go back to straight stock (like just when I picked up the car) kind of renewal.

Yes... when you're treated that good, it's not a factor of money anymore.

I just picked up some Lexol last week. Same experience, rejuvinates the seats right back to stock, with no shine. (I like a little shine, so I add some Danier Leather Factory leather conditioner afterwards) I got to keep my seats shiny, or it won't fit the rest of the interior!!

Yeah, don't forget your interior reminds me of one too many chinese take-out oils smothered everywhere :)

EXACTLY!

I love oil. It looks good. It feels good. Oil is good for your engine. It's good for the transmission. Nothing like a glistening surface of oil on a hot sunbathing woman. It's good eating oil too. Oil is good my friend. Succumb to it's inner glory.

Why can't my car look that good too? I love how street lights reflect off my dash board.

Getting back to topic. Is our club too active for it's members? or are the members not active enough? but then, who draws that line?

We should always aim for the minimum turn out (IMHO) since only 10% of the club usually turns out. The trick.... the million dollar question is, why is it always the same 10%?

I can see our club, consistantly getting a minimum of 5 member turn outs. You know... THAT ISN'T BAD! look at the Mazda 3 club, they have thousands of members in BC, and how many show up for their events? 50? 60? that's more than us, but much worse percentage.

Maybe we should give ourselves a break. We have don't actually have that many members. Perhaps our error is designing really grand events? Should we design for our target audience? that is... the "average" target audience of 4-6 members?

I don't know, but then I never get tired of you guys.

That's a very good point. BC Mazda 3 has 2580 members on their forum... We have 27 members...

Well.. I guess all we could do is try our best... and if our members would like to suggest events they want, please let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate.

Well, I think it's summer and we just had a long weekend.
Most rx8 folks aren't the enthusiastic type coming out to meets anyways. Heck, some posters on this forum seem to have all the time in the world to rack up hundreds of posts but never actually show their face to a meet. I think for a lot of people these days, being active online and following that up in the real world are 2 completely different things. That is their perogative.
I still enjoy the company of meeting the regulars who do come out as well as meeting new rx8 people. I'd rather meet up with folks in person in the real world, cuz I'z keeps it real yo!!! :)

all I can say is.. if I'm from Toronto, and I showed up for one of YOUR MEETS while I was in your town... there's absolutely no excuse for your locals :) :) :)
