I didnt want to postabout this when it happened b/c I was so upset at the time. Last week I was in a mall parking lot w/a passenger and this guy ina fucking Eclipse was backing outof a spot to the right of me whileI was looking for a spot. I dont know what the hell was wrong w/him b/c I was right there and he accelerated while reversing insteadof backingout slowly like he didnt even see me. My car was still moving forward and hepulled out so quickly that I didnt even have time to brake so that added to the damage too. It got hit really damn hard man. I think he backed up atleast like 10 mph to do the kindof damage he did. I wanted to deck the jerk right there but therewere too many people around.

The front rightside of my front bumper was hanging off and it pushed the right fender back a little and the passenger I had w/me well she couldnt get out of the car b/c the passenger door couldnt open thanksto the angle the fender was pushed back at. The casingfor the headlights was cracked and the turning signal lights were also hanging off.

His insurancecompany is going to be paying for all the repairs. The problemis that I want the car back before Thanksgiving so and the companiestake forever to get things done so I justtook my car straight over to a body shop sinceit was still driveable. The onlyway Im going to have my car back quickly is by paying for the damages now andthen get reimbursed from his company.

I had a disposablecamera inmy Rx8 that I took pics w/a few days back and half ofthe film was left so I took some pics of the damage to my car when I got near the body shop. Whenyou guys see the damage you are goingto think wow that was in a really bad accident but the shittypart is that all it was was an idiot backing into my car. Im amazed at how easily the cars popped off. Then again it was like 10mph.

A few people on theroad saw my car while I was driving it to the body shop and were shakingtheir heads verydisappointed. I bet alot of them hadnt even seen the car before and wow for the firsttime they see one on the right side of it is all fucked up. I cant believe thishappened to me. I mean herein Miami I knew my car was going to eventually get damaged like maybe being scratched by another car that is parking or dinged by someones door being opened but I didnt think my first incident was going to be this damn bad. I guessI pushed my luck when I drove around w/the suicide doors open stunt. It cameback to me two fold. Iam happy that I didnt get the fender strakes orthe accents added like I was going to that week b/c they would have been damaged right away.

I didnt really miss the car for the first week I didnt have it since I got a rental right away but now I am praying I have my Rx8 back by Thanksgiving. I cant take it anymore. Since theres only 2 or 3 other Rx8s that I rarely even see inthis area I have really been missing my car. It wouldntsting as much if I still saw 1 everynow and then on the road but no one drives them around here.

Instead ofgetting the camera developed now and posting the damaged pics I mightjust wait till I get the car back and then take repaired pics of the Rx8 to compare the damaged shots to the after repairs shots.

I'm sorry that happened and I know just how you feel. My 8's in the shop right now. I've been without it for a week now, and I'm having withdrawals! Hope you get yours back soon!

It took over a month to get mycar back guys. Damage wasnt even that badas you can see. I hope none of you have to go through this.

I got a copyof the appraisers worksheet. The price for the replacement of all the damaged partscame out to $2000 andthe labor movedthat up another grand.

Wnat was interestingto me was that the headlamp assembly cost more than the frontbumper. Incase you were wondering the front bumper is $359while one headlamp assembly is $432. The right fender was $220.

Here is another bad shot but it shows howthe damage pushed the fender back a bit into the passenger door andprevented it from opening
