Little did I know that my trip to North Carolina would help me avoid the hail storm earlier this week (I work in Markham); and some serious damage to the car!

I went to Asheville, NC on the weekend and drove the Blue Ridge Parkway to the western end and continued on to the Dragon at Deal's Gap. There are some great roads in the area and I highly recommend it! Lots of curves and lots of elevation changes. The 8 loved the curves

Check out http://www.tailofthedragon.com for all the info you need about the Dragon and surrounding area.

I attached a few pics. I'll post some more when I get a chance.
I would have taken more but most of the time was spent behind the wheel :)

Nice.

I hear they give out a lot of tickets in that road.

I think it's more of the roads leading to the Dragon. There's no where to pull over on the Dragon! But the police on the Tennessee side are very aggressive according to the website. I only saw one cruiser parked at the gas station.

Your pics look awesome dude!:) I would love to do a drive like that with my 8. How much did the round-trip cost you in gas?

Well it was about 1300km to Asheville and I was averaging 450-475km a tank. (That was cruising around 130kmh (80mph) - or about 4k in 6th gear)
All in all I went through about 7 tanks of gas at roughly $60 US a tank.

And I only went through a quart of oil! Maybe it helped that I had the 4 year service done just before I left. The car ran great with absolutely no problems. It sure makes the decision on my lease harder with only 2 months to go :)

Nice pic and trip! I recently drove down from PA to Asheville NC to pick up my 05 GT back in March, the area is awesome and perfect for any 8 owners (Blue Ridge Parkway!) ! Did you try the Noodles and the all you can eat mussels in DT? such a great area with great people!

Yeah, one of the only spots to stop and take photos on the Dragon! The shots are almost identical

I'll have to order the photos from Killboy.com - they got some good ones of me (6/17) and it's nice having a driving pic for once :)
