So my local mazda dealer has an 08 gt (without the spoiler ) sticker is $33k, but i'll be paying cash so I'm hoping I can get it for somewhere between $26-28k.. I've driven them and I'm attracted to them. I like the rotary but this will be the the first rotary I own. I'm prepared to keep the engine up and etc. I've been researching and reading about them for about a year now so I think I am somewhat informed on what goes on. So I guess before i make the final purchase, what do you love/hate about the RX-8(pics if you have them)? personally, love- the look of exterior and interior; hate- that the "local" mazda dealership is a 1 hour drive away :banghead:

you might want to wait a while 'cuz the '09s are shipping so they should start to heavily discount the '08s soon

yeah if I don't get this one, I'll probably wait till' about late July... I like the 09' interior, but wtf did they do to the exterior it's like a tiburon/miata

Can you mail me that cash so I can inspect it first? You can never be too safe these days ;)

Ground clearance is nothing to worry about. Maybe you should take a test drive first to see for yourself.

I took it for a spin the other day, but never left 30mph(in 6th gear [a/t]) lol but I'm going to run it before I actually buy it

ground clearance with stock suspension is NO problem.
wait till 09's hit the dealership, you'll get a better price.

Just get an 06 for less than 20K and put a nice big turbo on it!

dont get an automatic.

i hate the price of premium gas and >20mpg. but i just got a cobb accessport so hopefully i'll be seeing better gas mileage.

other than the price of gas (which is not inherent to the rx8) there is nothing i hate. i dislike the dash unit and prefer the built in gps of the 09s.

Find out what the whole sale price is, then decide what you want to pay too. make an offer for $25K just to see if they bite or not. The sales guy will talk to his boss, then the bosses boss and so on, this may take soometime of course. You gotta play hard ball with the dealers. Don't forget to inpect this 8 from top to bottom because sometimes they can be damaged during shipping. Remember cars are not selling exept for gas savers. Good luck and hope you score. Shoot have them throw in the spoiler.

Unless you're physically hampered in some way from driving a stick, don't get the automatic! Sports cars shouldn't even be built with automatics, period (all Speed3's and Speed6's were 6-speeds, so why did you put an auto in the RX8, Mazda? huh? huh?). All the "joy of driving" you hear people us talk about on this board... a lot of that has to do with being able to shift your own gears. Test drive both, and see the difference for yourself.
