An interesting Article and a Clculator (MPG related)

Smart money has an article (dated 6/14/8) about the ideals behind trading in a less fuel efficient vehicle for a more fuel efficient one. Of course, the article itself has an SUV slant. The article says a lot of the same things we've all been saying and it includes a nifty calculator at the bottom to let you know if trading out (or in) is a good idea.

To determine whether trading in your [vehicle] for a more fuel-efficient car makes sense, use our calculator, which takes into consideration such things as your driving habits, the trade-in value of your existing car and how much you still owe on it. Needless to say, many other factors come into play, including how long you've owned your car and additional ownership costs like insurance and sales tax.
It turns out that me trading my SUV for an RX-8 was a good idea!

from the calculator i discovered it would not be beneficial for me to trade in my car, and plus i wouldnt do it anyway even if it was financially beneficial. You only live once, do what you want and dont settle for less.
