I am at 900 miles and plan on scheduling an oil change at 1K, is this covered in the free maintance? any advice anyone can give me on what to expect at dealer? this is the first new car ive bought and first time im going to a dealer for an oil change. usually i would run down to jiffy lube, where a friend works.

They will give you a limited number of changes according to the schedule you chose for your car (you DID read the manual right?). Whatever is the scheduled stuff is included. Extra oil changes are not. Just read the paperwork you already have.

My dealer provided a one-time "freebee" oil change: anytime I cared to do it, at 3000 miles or 30 miles -- whenever I wanted. Maybe aks your dealer if they also provide a "first oil change is on us" deal?

Come to think of it, when I bought a new truck in '93, it came with a free oil change too. Seems it may be a pretty common practice.
