I understand the manual advises topping off the oil with the engine warm, and letting it sit for five minutes so the oil drains back into the pan.
But ... why must it be warm? I'd rather top it off in my garage without burning my hands around the dip stick, e.g., first thing in the morning when I'm about to drive it.
