Get on the waiting list for a 6speed Modena and you'll end up spending around $160,000 before taxes and before $10,000 holding deposit. So sayeth my F-car dealer..

Stupidity like F1 tranny and Spyder jacks up the cost substantially.

The Modena is not all that it's cracked up to be. I don't know if it's me but I prefer the design of the F355 to the 360.

And the wait for one of those puppies is so bad that you can't get a Spyder anymore. Sypder orders have been backlogged for awhile now. They won't take any more orders for Sypder's.

And that stupid F1 transimission is a joke. Unless you're actually racing it day in day out it's a total waste of money.... Give me the manual any day.

The only Ferrari I would like would be the F50! Now that's a Ferrari!!! ;)

i know i'm in the minority but i think the 360 is the most beautiful car I have ever seen, it's probably my "favorite" car.

It's so funny, when I was stationed in Germany I would see Ferrari's all the time. It was almost commonplace. F355's, 360's, and of course the 550 Maranello. Didn't see any F50's, though.

I never knew the words Ferrari and Common could be used together in the same post... LOL! :D

Nothing common about these type of cars. Although around T.O. there are a lot of them. I have a few 550 Maranello's around my neighbourhood.
Most of the time I get to see all those people out at Mosport.

I've only seen 2 F50's around town. They're very rare. But definately my favorite Ferrari. If I had to get a Ferrari it would only be the F50.

I've seen the only Enzo on the road in T.O. many times in the late summer and fall around T.O. Doesn't give off the same presense as the F50.
Still a very respectible car! lol

I'm more of a 575M Maranello kinda guy.. hehe

Of course there's no way in hell I'd ever be able to get one.

The F40 is the car that started all this Supercar nonsense.

It hasn't aged as gracefully as I thought it would. Unless of course you get the F40 LM edition. It looks really nice in that configuration. I've only seen 1, and it was at the Ferrari dealership. It was being prepped for shipment to the US for a race.
I'm pretty sure "The Players Run" had a guy with an F40 with the LM config.... That's a nice F40.

But still not as nice as the F50 :p :D

this make be making a fairly bold statement, but anyone who is a TRUE car enthusiast should hold the name 'Ferrari' in the highest esteem. ferrari has a racing heritage that cannot be matched by many companies, and there cars are dervied from that heritage to give us sportscars that are as close as they can get to actual formula race cars while still being street legal. (well the f40, f50 and enzo are prime examples, the other models are still very very performance oriented, however not as extreme).

japan has a very large portion of exotic cars, many of their dealers stock over 50 ferraris, be it 512M's or F40 and F50's. however, the japanese ferrari enthusiasts have their priorities straight when it comes to owning a super high performance exotic. they take their ponies out to the track and race, where their cars were meant to spend there time.

i have a picture of 5 enzo's and about 60 other ferrari's racing on a famous track in japan ( i believe its tsukuba, not sure) i saw it in one of my GENROQ magazines. GENROQ used to be referred to as the magazine for people who have outrageous amounts of money and don't know what to do with it. i unfortunatley do not fall into this category, but i still drool over the magazine everyday.

strangely the F50 is probably one of the lesser respected Ferraris, since it there is nothing really special about it. I mean it wasn't that much faster than the F40 for being 10 years newer, and its power/weight ratio is actually less. The styling is love it or hate it, it looks like a rocket with wheels. I love the F50 and everything Ferrari, but my understanding stops when someone can like it more than the Enzo after actually seeing one, wow.

h0rde,

Yes it's true that the F50 was one of the least respected supercar of the time. It didn't participate in any actual race events. Plus at the time there were alot of restrictions put in place to make the car globally appealing. Where it loses in power (if you can really call it losing) to the F40 it makes up in it's overall performance.

To me it embodies everything that Ferrari stands for. It has that classical Ferrari beauty that isn't present in any of the modern cars it makes today.

The Enzo on the other hand is the latest creation. Cutting edge. But in doing so it has lost some of the Ferrari beauty. The car itself is really love it or hate it. I personally don't mind it. It's nice and it still strikes fear in the eyes of the average commuter.
What really annoys me is the fact that everything is computer driven. There's a sense of loss when you drive one. The driver slowly becomes more of a passenger. It's not something that Ferrari's should be known for. But it's starting in all their cars. First thing I hate is the F1 tranny. Yes, I know it's great because it does everything for you. It blips the throttle perfectly and even matches revs as you downshift. That's where your involvment should be. Instead you rely on a computer. It makes everyone look like a real pro. When in reality it's the computer doing all the work. Do you know what I mean?

People get a sense of what's next to appear in your average econo box car by looking at the latest offerings of these exotic companies. If that's any indication then I'm afraid of what future "mundane" cars will look, feel, and behave like.

I guess I'm just a hardcord driver at heart..... if it's not the F50 it would have to be the McLaren F1!!! If you have that type of cash lying around.... :D

I think a certain M. Schumacher would disagree with your idea that the computer does all the work! Haha. Actually I don't like the F1 transmission that much either (I say this having never driven an F1 Ferrari obviously), I couldn't see myself buying one over a standard manual. I think that there are many critics who didn't like the F50, but probably just as many fans appreciate it as the F40 or Enzo. Of course I love them all...
