Took some pics in between swap. I have very mixed feelings. Just wanna see what other people think. Ill probably delete this thread once I make up my mind.
These are Daily rims. The track rims are the last pic and those are set in stone.
I like the black OZ's for dailys because I can keep the vents and other accents blacked and keep lookin sexy on teh track.

Halfway through swap:

I began unchromificating myself... here is what PB looks like with black ultraleggeras. No more chrome rims or chrome vents. Im considering darkening the corners, emblems, and possibly lightly tinting the heads n tails... or opening the tails and painting the flat silver parts in black.

Prob gonna, would have to do door handle strakes and head+tail lights also. Also have a little chrome on my B pillar covers. Right now it all holds itself together, but if i change one, im gonna have to change em all. The B pillars will be tricky... Also the door handle strakes too... but the main chore is going to be the tail lights. All that flat silver needs to go, but i dont know if anyone's figured out how to get the tails open yet.... ive read a bunch of threads about people trying....

Dont go to overboard with the thing, it looks good as it is, sometimes its nice to have some accents on your car.

Dont go overboard? Never been good at that...

My next job is actually painting the calipers black, which i hear is a big pain. Im probably not going to get around to the accents because of how much work they are... Taking off the bumper just for the one stupid mazda logo... and my door handle thingys are REALLY stuck on there... and near impossible to get new ones.
Also I dont think ive ever seen pure black B pillars... ive seen RX-8, skinka, rotor shapes, and mazdaspeed, but no ONLY black ones. They were still the best 40$ to spend on the car, no more smudgy flat-black grossness.

go to rx8strakes, i think i saw on there a piano black b pillar with no logo on it. anyways your car looks good, congrats, i like those wheels, im considering them but silver, what are your specs on those and how much you spent on them?

just get a tint overlay for your clears. that way you can pull it off if you get ticketed for it. 30% is dark enough to get it to blend and still not get you in trouble.

paint your calipers the color of your car. that would look really hot. you need some color there, otherwise its too black. porsche knows good design, look what they did.

black is a good color, but its very easy to go overboard with it.

Sharkman - Thanks I found em on there... Ill definitely replace mine with those once mine get worn down a little bit. I dont think they're reusable. Specs on the wheels? 18x8 +48 5x114.3 supposedly 18.6lbs. I bought lugnuts at autozone and theyre getting rusty after 3 days. 3 were so bad I had to put one chrome lug on each wheel. I would really love a recommendation where to buy GOOD black lugs. Hub centering rings cost me 7$ each w. 7$ shipping from Tirerack and got to me in 24 hours. I tried mounting em without centrics and it was bad. Now they're perfect. I bought em off an acquaintance but I was ready to order from tirerack at 335 each back in march, but they were out of stock, they have some now, but i think its up to 348. They only have silver though. There are matte grey, graphite, and crystal titanium colors (all silvery) if you can find em. also theres gold if you're brave. Or get yours powdercoated... Thats my plan once they get some road wear on them.

kersh4w - Body matched caliper paint? Any idea where I could find anything that looks like phantom blue? I think if i go with any regular blue or greens it will clash. Thats why i figured silver or black had to be it. But if you know of a place, pls let me know. And have you done a tint overlay? Ive seen em on rx8strakes.com, ebay, etc... do you know anything about the quality of them vs the source or price?

I wouldnt get ticketed for what i want to do to the taillights, which is just paint the flat silver surrounding the red part and strake bits black. its the only flat silver left on the car... But i suppose a tint cover would probably solve that and save me a lot of hassle.
