Well, here is my last mod. I painted the front lamps with 27A.
What do you think?

balls of steel for taking the housing apart. Very nice color match with the body color.

honestly, it makes the headlights look cheaper, toyish. But that aside, it looks like you did a good job on it. Mazda doesn't appear to sell the headlights without the bulbs, so it's something like $1500 for each light if you screw up.

looks like the headlights in the new vettes. I like. I think it would look good on my sunlight silver.

By any chance could you tell me what you did to get the headlight apart without damaging it or harming the seal? And would you also know if the same process would work on the taillights also?

My brother has a lancer and he is going to put the headlights in the oven to soften up the seal so that he can take them apart would this work if so what temp would you think would be good.

I am thinking about painting my lights like you did but at the same time put some tint on the inside of the plastic shell that way it wont peel off as easily.

any and all suggestions would be good.

Takes balls to do that I have done about 4 sets on bugeye wrx's 02-03 putting them in the oven or using a heat gun is scary scary just have to man up and go for it and hope u dont waste all your money lol. You can probably find a decent set on ebay. My first practice set I found at a junk yard cheap.

Not an exact match. Looks nice. For all that work I would have gotten the exact same paint as the car.

Only time will tell when it fades.

I hope you used a clear coat.
