What do you think? laythor 05-26-2008, 03:04 PM balls of steel for taking the housing apart. Very nice color match with the body color. mysql 05-26-2008, 03:09 PM honestly, it makes the headlights look cheaper, toyish. But that aside, it looks like you did a good job on it. Mazda doesn't appear to sell the headlights without the bulbs, so it's something like $1500 for each light if you screw up. 05rex8 05-26-2008, 03:18 PM looks like the headlights in the new vettes. I like. I think it would look good on my sunlight silver. ayrton012 05-27-2008, 03:26 AM Thank you for the comments to everybody! rx8phase1 05-27-2008, 03:39 AM looks like the headlights in the new vettes. I like. I think it would look good on my sunlight silver. yup i agree kersh4w 05-27-2008, 12:42 PM thank you for doing it on a VR. dale2020 06-18-2008, 02:43 AM By any chance could you tell me what you did to get the headlight apart without damaging it or harming the seal? And would you also know if the same process would work on the taillights also? My brother has a lancer and he is going to put the headlights in the oven to soften up the seal so that he can take them apart would this work if so what temp would you think would be good. I am thinking about painting my lights like you did but at the same time put some tint on the inside of the plastic shell that way it wont peel off as easily. any and all suggestions would be good. RX OCHO 06-18-2008, 03:06 AM good work on the headlights, but not my taste. AJ's Shinka 06-18-2008, 03:32 AM not bad not bad at all. thecow135 06-18-2008, 02:52 PM you need to paint some of the silver stuff too Bumble_Bee 06-18-2008, 05:58 PM I believe someone else in the forum did theirs on the WWP... Brave... RX8YA 06-18-2008, 06:47 PM Takes balls to do that I have done about 4 sets on bugeye wrx's 02-03 putting them in the oven or using a heat gun is scary scary just have to man up and go for it and hope u dont waste all your money lol. You can probably find a decent set on ebay. My first practice set I found at a junk yard cheap. foo77 06-23-2008, 01:11 AM hmmm... hope it looks good in real.. but kudos for something different :) briann 06-23-2008, 01:14 AM You think itll look ricey if you painted the silver parts gold? foo77 06-23-2008, 01:23 AM never seen someone done it.. maybe it'll look good with gold emblem? just a thought.. Razz1 06-24-2008, 12:13 AM Not an exact match. Looks nice. For all that work I would have gotten the exact same paint as the car. Only time will tell when it fades. I hope you used a clear coat. |
