Hi,
First of all let me say I'm a noob at all of this. In fact I'm not really much of a car aficionado, but I'm working on a alt. fuel project that will be using a rotary engine (the bare engine, just the housing with the rotors), so I figured who best to ask then those that work with them all the time.

Well here's the thing I need to buy a rotary engine and not knowing how much they went for I asked one of the guys here about it. Well he answered but he said it was dependent on the compression numbers. Tell the truth I have no idea what that is.

So if anyone can tell me what compression numbers are and/or give me another opinion on how much I can get an engine for and where. (cheap, cause I don't have to say what college expenses does to one's budget) I'll appreciate it a lot.

Thanks for any help,
David

I would check a junkyard. That's where you will find the cheapest engines for what you want to do. You can probably find one in a fairly low mileage vehicle in good shape.
