Mazda man 11-15-2003, 01:14 PM One of my hobbies is radio control car racing.
I was wondering if anyone has seen a 1/10 RX-8 lexan bodyshell. I have searched everywhere and have had no luck.
Thanks.
Toadman 11-15-2003, 02:00 PM Havent seen one yet. Still looking myself.

--Z-- 11-16-2003, 05:55 AM Hmmm...may give your real RX8 a run for its $:D
Mazda man 11-16-2003, 03:05 PM Thanks guys, but what I am really looking for is just a bodyshell. Tamiya are making a very accurate 350Z, but no Rx-8..:(
What chassis is your Rx-7 Toadman?
spdspappy 11-17-2003, 05:54 PM I hope I can find a body to fit my Serpent Impulse PRO
Toadman 11-17-2003, 07:24 PM Mine's an HPI Sprint chassis. Good link, Pyro.

HPI makes a 190 mm and a 200 mm body now. 1/10 scale.
I'm running a 1/18 scale HPI...hoping they'll make a RX-8 body for that one. My gf and I are both running FD3S body's right now though on each of our cars. I might have to pick up another one with a Trueno body next...then a FC3S if they ever decide to make one. So I'm an Initial D freak :(

Do you race touring car Mazda man? What's your setup?
i3man 01-13-2004, 04:12 AM Ike where's the report from the championships this past weekend? Did you go?
Ack, almost forgot. It's a great track and was great fun, I never founf my charger for my Camera so no pics unfortnately. Mike Blackstock took the foam mod class, and it really made me wish I had stuck with it since I used to race with him and do very well at regionals... All the top guys in the US showed, and it was simply amazing to watch them rip up the track. Finals results for the A Main foam mod were....

I decided I'm getting back into it, and will be going with the TC3 Factory Team car, still working out some of the other details. It was quite cool to see some of the legends of RC racing there such as Mike Reedy, Bob Novak, and many others. If there's anything else you want to know about the race or what I learned in my quest to get back into RC let me know.

Toadman 01-13-2004, 02:37 PM Amazing how many of us are into R/C. Boys and their toys, right ladies? :D
i3man 01-13-2004, 02:43 PM Ike - from a cosmetic standpoint I think the Yokomo is the best looking car. The silver carbon chasis looks really nice. But it comes down to parts and we all know eventually you'll break something and the replacement parts have to be readily available because it's no fun to have to wait weeks for new parts.
Check out the JR XS3 radio. Synthesized radios are the new thing and considering how much a set of crystals would cost you, being able to change frequency with the press of a button is a nice feature to have.
Here has some pretty good prices on kits.

Yes, it really does come down to parts, I really like the Tamiya Evo III, and the new Shaft Drive car they have coming out, and the Alex Racing Baracuda R3, but parts will not be readily available at the track...
Here's a breakdown of what the top guys were using at the track, basicly who sponsors them. I was really shocked to not see a single guy using a JR or Futaba radio. I'm not sure if they're just not into sponsoring the US drivers much or if there is a specific reason these guys pick KO and Airtronics.

Here's a pic of Chris Tosolini's Yokomo
i3man 01-13-2004, 08:32 PM That looks like the graphite upgrade which most sponsored guys would be driving. The stock one actually looks nicer though.
RotaryX 01-13-2004, 09:16 PM TowerHobbies.com I got mine but haven't painted it yet. Just search rx8
