Spinning Sushi 05-19-2008, 05:24 AM Omg Omg Omg Omg! I hope they don't jack up the price too high... laythor 05-19-2008, 05:29 AM it's late and i'm giddy! Heather already posted that their new light wasn't expected to cost "too much". Anything less then the OEM rear fog is fine by me. Tamas 05-19-2008, 03:12 PM You guys should have gotten derwankel's rear rotary lamp when he still made them. It was some 80 bucks (shipped), looks totally OEM and fits great. Plus he had a version that fits with the OEM rotary symbol and one that is without the rotary emblem. Pity he stopped making parts for the RX-8. Macius8 05-19-2008, 03:14 PM omg omg omg what is it? i cant see im at work HockeyRX-8 05-19-2008, 03:21 PM ^ its the rear rotary light that the european versions have. Detrich 05-19-2008, 03:24 PM hahahahaha... :) omg omg omg what is it? i cant see im at work RotaryFX.com 05-19-2008, 03:35 PM Hi, It's going to be a little bit more of a do it yourself kit than the former version, so it's looking like we're going to be able to offer it at a significantly less price... hopefully as low as $59.99. We'll be posting installation instructions prior to the launch. xsnipersgox 05-19-2008, 03:48 PM awsome. photo chick 05-19-2008, 04:19 PM saw a dude with this last week! http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o11/dudeitslena/IMG_1258.jpg sticks888 05-19-2008, 04:48 PM that would be my car :) I have the OEM rear fog light with the wiring spliced to the brake light wiring. And yes it is expensive, mostly because of the fog light wiring harness that I didn't need :( But I was able to sell that so the cost ended up less than $100. Tamas 05-19-2008, 04:52 PM http://www.rx8club.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=75862&d=1146257976 :D: Not the OEM... :) photo chick 05-19-2008, 05:17 PM that would be my car :) I have the OEM rear fog light with the wiring spliced to the brake light wiring. Macius8 05-19-2008, 05:55 PM Maybe I could use this as a reverse light? I'd like to use the red overlay for my tailights but then the reverse lights would stay red. Renesis07 05-19-2008, 05:58 PM yup, been wanting this forever, Id do it for 60 bux no questions asked. photo chick 05-19-2008, 05:59 PM Maybe I could use this as a reverse light? I'd like to use the red overlay for my tailights but then the reverse lights would stay red. red reverse lights? isn't that illegal? and how would people know you're reversing? sticks888 05-19-2008, 06:41 PM i posted this in the "i saw you" thread on the west coast forum too! but not the picture i was just staring at it wondering what it was haha. where in irvine are you? I live near Irvine Spectrum. Near Sand Canyon Ave and 405 fwy to be exact. XRX8X 05-19-2008, 06:55 PM I got mine three years ago and installed it myself and it's still looks great! anet1737 05-19-2008, 07:02 PM ooh that looks cool...i want! :) June 9th huh... 13bturbofc 05-19-2008, 07:08 PM nice Macius8 05-19-2008, 07:50 PM red reverse lights? isn't that illegal? and how would people know you're reversing? No use the rotor light as the reverse light. Make it clear instead of red and paint or tint the taillight red. This would be the replacement for the reverse lights. photo chick 05-19-2008, 08:11 PM hmmm...i don't know if people would get that it's your reverse light. and the fact that you'll only have one will add to the dilemma. Macius8 05-19-2008, 08:54 PM i doubt it, all cars have reverse lights in different locations, once ppl see a clear bright light light up i dont think it'll make a difference, but i think itll look kinda tacky anyways with a clear lamp in the back chuck rx-8 05-19-2008, 09:26 PM i want one. 8rotor8 05-19-2008, 10:55 PM You've been waiting too long Matt... itsallaboutgary 05-19-2008, 11:20 PM oh man...can't wait. i should have gotten this 4 1/2 years ago!! :banghead: rx8speeddmon 05-20-2008, 12:40 AM hmmm...i don't know if people would get that it's your reverse light. and the fact that you'll only have one will add to the dilemma. I think to avoid confusion, you should get one of those super duper cool back up beepers like the trucks have. Then you would have one of the most unique 8's around. N rider89 05-20-2008, 03:04 AM if it fits behind the accent im in for one laythor 05-20-2008, 12:01 PM You've been waiting too long Matt... I know.... and your car mocks me whenever I'm behind you. 13bturbofc 05-21-2008, 08:02 AM the mini cooper only has one reverse light in about the same location this would be,they dont seem to have issues BigWillieStyle 05-31-2008, 06:35 AM I want one! AJ's Shinka 05-31-2008, 06:41 AM DIBS on the first one. robrecht 05-31-2008, 07:15 AM saw a dude with this last week! http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o11/dudeitslena/IMG_1258.jpgOMG, that picture! I regularly visit SoCal for business and just cannot comprehend how you poor guys put up with that commuting traffic situation there. I'm so lucky to live in NJ but still have a twisty mountain road commute. TragicallyHip 05-31-2008, 10:57 AM once ppl see a clear bright light light up i dont think it'll make a difference, I don't think that people know what the clear bright lights mean here in Ontario (at least not on the street where I work) I can drive the car up the road, put it in reverse with my signal light on, and still have idiots drive up the street and pull right up behind me and sit there like idiots... (This happens quite a few times each day as i'm bringing cars to the front of the dealership and am required to back them into their parking space...) ChainRotary 05-31-2008, 04:58 PM The early mini coopers have the reverse light in that location. The 05+ minis have a rear fog in that location, with the reverse lights relocated into the brake/signal lights. Just traded mine in on my 40th anniv RX-8, and though I had one, that rear fog was something that isn't legal in some states (Oregon and/or Washington, if I remember correctly). the mini cooper only has one reverse light in about the same location this would be,they dont seem to have issues photo chick 05-31-2008, 05:24 PM OMG, that picture! I regularly visit SoCal for business and just cannot comprehend how you poor guys put up with that commuting traffic situation there. I'm so lucky to live in NJ but still have a twisty mountain road commute. well, yes, southern california traffic blows. but this pick was taken on an onramp where they have a stop light to let a couple cars go at a time to ease the traffic. and it works! but come 4pm and that's a different story... lopezian2004 05-31-2008, 05:44 PM i MUST be weird.. am i the only one that kinda doesn't like that rear light?? i need some convincing guys hahaha i know its definitely a cool mod and i'd like to get it i just think its kinda tacky but what do i know laythor 06-07-2008, 06:25 AM the price for the marker is up: http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/989/scr156606b1xo0.jpg it's doesnt work with a rear accent :( I think I'm still going to order one Silver_Mazda09 06-10-2008, 07:31 AM Me and two Mazda owners got together and made our own Rotary Third brake lights. http://img261.imageshack.us/img261/7970/rotaryemblem051re7.jpg http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/2620/rotaryemblem064lw9.jpg zavhan 06-10-2008, 08:44 AM Tis is the japan version tat fits snugly into and under the orig rear accent.
