View Full Version : having problems with the front rotary accent!

I just got it in yesterday, washed the car up good, let it dry. intalled front and back with supplied double sided tape, came out this morning and my front accent was falling off, the tape didn't hold at all, im thinking of using epoxy do you think that will work? i guess the tape cant handle georgia humidty. thanks for the replies

I'm in Florida.......it can handle the humidity. You should have had directions that said clean with alcohol before installing. I'd bet there was still maybe a slight film of soap scum left on there, or you just got bad tape.
Epoxy :dunno: Of course it will work, but not sure I would do it right away. I think at this point I would go get some more auto double-sided 3M tape at an auto parts store, clean the all the areas with isoprophyl alcohol and try it again before resorting to epoxy.

do you have the appearance package? if not then you will need to add another layer of double sided tape to make it stick (should have come with it)
the instructions should have said this aswell

Your accent has 2 holes in it for 2 tiny little screws. they go straight into your appearence package or black plastic rotary simbol.

you have to wipe the black plastic part with the cleaning wipe it came with then it would stick just great, mine never came off
