ok im kinda new to the rotary engine but i do understand the operations of it and all that but i have a few questions that i hope somebody could answer for me.

1. when i first purchased my 8 i drove from wv to sc and got about 275 miles to a full tank (highway miles) and now for some ,two months latter i am hardly getting 200 miles to a full tank, probably exactally 180-190 the last time i filled up (mostly town and back road miles) now this is normal driving and a little fast passed driving but not all the time ,...now im just wondering if you guys can give me some input on what you guys get and if theres something wrong if you all have any known probs i should know about

2.now onto my thermostat question, summer is almost here and i know in most of my past cars (nissans, pontiacs, chvys) i just take the thermostat out just to make myself feel better about the temp and to get a lil more hp from the engine running cooler but has anybody tried to take it out and had any probs , just let me know

3.is there any favorites you guys have for ignition systems for the rotary

sorry about the simple questions, i am very knowledgeable on motors just not on the rotary

i know about he oil consumption but is there any prob, tips or tricks you guy could share so i can just be in the know

That's normal MPG for Hwy and City, and dont take out the thermostat the engine will OVERHEAT.

Talk to Charles R. Hill. He has an ignition system coming out that uses GM Yukon Coils and comes with everything you need (harness/plug wires/coils/brackets). Here is a link to it:

As far as mileage, I usually get about 17-18 in the city and somewhere around 22-23 for highway. Your car seems pretty normal, I wouldn't worry about it too much.
