Today I went in for my first oil change. (2,500 miles). While at the Dealer I decided to use some of AMEX $500 Mazda Gift card to get a few "goodies" for my 8. To go with the Appearence Package that was added when the car came in, I added Front Spash Guards to even out the look.. I think they look great! Also, I had them add the Night Light option. They are red hue lights that go under the footwell and stay on for about 15 seconds when you open the doors. (Drivers/Passenger side) More of a gimick really, but hey---I think it adds to the "coolness" factor like the NAV system. I also wanted the color coded door edge guards, but they are a special order item.. next oil change ??:D

cool, but I thought the free mazda schedule maintenance was every 5k and not 2.5K? (There's also a 7.5K schedule but who would choose that).

It is. But the dealer (Gunther Mazda in Ft. lauderdale) offers a free first oil change. I decided to split the milege at 2500. (Break in change). I will go back at 5K for the rest of the Mazda frebbies!
