Not on the road it was on - it's a very busy dual carriageway that doesn't have a hard shoulder and there is no stopping. The car caused quite a bit of a tailback and there was no-one in the car.

The most positive problem I could come up with was out of petrol (hence no-one in the car) but it gave the others in the car a good chance to take the mickey about the reliability of my new car.:(

O, my first refil was 53 litres, @ 275 miles, light came on at 261.

Means I had at most 8 litres left, or about 30 miles? And I know the fuel tank can be a bit iffy on eeking out the last dregs. No idea how close I came to runing out, but I bet I'll find out oneday.

One time I put in 58.9L I drove 64Km from the time the light went on till I found a station. When you can fill that much you KNOW your dry!

I know these things happen - I was only noting the irony that the first RX8 I see outside a dealership appeared to be in a bad way. It's also the embarresment factor I had to endure with the two guys with me taking the pee!

As long as mine goes ok (or arrives even) then I'll be as happy as a pig in shit!
