View Full Version : gutted cat and loving it
CompMan 05-09-2008, 12:06 PM I gutted the cat, it feels so much better. Kind of like having a stuffy nose opposed to a clear nose. I def. feel the difference.
My CEL is on obviously but is there like an o2 sensor bypass I can get? I SEARCHED!!!!!!
I'm just very meticulous and little things bother me.
Wurmfist 05-09-2008, 12:09 PM I think you are stuck with the CEL. Hopefully you don't live in an area that has emissions testing like mine. Thanks to my liberal Gov in Ohio our emission testing was extended to at least the end of this year. Hopefully then I can get the RB midpipe. I think probably the better option would be to have replaced your cat with a straight pipe and save your cat in your garage in case you need to throw it back on. Of course that's just an opinion, and you know how those are. :-P
JRichter 05-09-2008, 12:28 PM Rotary Performance sells an o2 senser simulator. Not sure if that's what your talking about. Look at the very bottom of the page...

That O2 Sensor been around for a while, I don't know of any member it has worked for. New Jersey also does have emissions testing. Four years on a new car, then every two years after that.
Beeotch 05-09-2008, 12:49 PM if you need to get emissions and you have a catless midpipe on your car you wouldent pass right? mine smells like shiat. If you swap out the catless midpipe and go back to your stock cat will the CEL still be on? how would i turn it off?
kersh4w 05-09-2008, 12:52 PM it'll probably go away after a few run cycles.

mysql 05-09-2008, 01:56 PM flow with a gutted cat isn't as nice as with a catless midpipe.
if you want a real solution for the missing cat CEL, get the accessport.
