I know it's probably too early to know, but I thought I'd ask anyway. My job situation isn't doing well, and I'm getting less and less income. So, I might have to return or maybe trade in my rx8 for another car. I was wondering if you guys have any clue as to what value I should come to expect if i was to trade in my car?

I have the 6sp Manual with the GT package and less than 1000miles.

Well, just for reference, the dealer near me has 2 buybacks on the lot and the one with over 8000 km on it they're selling for $3000(cdn) off msrp.

You have to take into account the demand for them though, the RX-8 is difficult to get in Canada due to the fact they only imported 700 of them, so the dealer can probably still sell it at this price even though it's got quite a few kms on it.

Basically since there's no book value on it yet it's worth whatever someone will pay for it, if a person wants it bad enough you probably won't lose that much.

really sorry to hear that. hope things will work out for you and then you also won't have to return your 8

there's a couple buybacks being sold on ebay, maybe you can track then and see how much they go for

Sell it privately. Any dealer will bend you over if you take it back to the lot. If you put any significant amount down when you purchased you should be able to come out even.

The used one's I have seen (very few) on Autotrader and Ebay were listed for around invoice. They were probably getting $1000 less than that, but I am guessing.

I saw an 6MT/Sports Pkg/600miles for $27000, and a 6MT/GT/100miles for $28,500.

If it wasn't black, I might have made ya' an offer :).

i think most of those "used" RX-8s are actually buybacks, so they're really barely used

Dealer offered me only $25,000 ... that's around $5000 less than what I paid (before tax and licensing). I'm going to try and keep my rx8.
