Today is just one of those days where being on the road
in the RX8 makes you an attention magnet.

In one stretch of driving, a 20 kilometre section of 90 and 80
zones from Virginia (the potato/onion/market garden and holy weed capital of South Australia) to Adelaide, I would have
had at least 5 people pull up next to me and give
me the thumbs up, or wind down their windows and
say somthing like "nice rotor" or "give it heaps".

I'm now back in the office, but thinking of going for a quick
cruise (the windy way) up to Hahndorf for some german
sausages and some Lowenbrau.

Do it!

Urgent problem that needs to be sorted. So I've got myself a Coopers Dark from the office fridge upstairs.

When the problem is fixed, I will then either :

(a) Go to Hahndorf for sausages and beers (mmmm ... cheese and chilli kransky) or
(b) Go into the CBD, try and score a table out front of the Exeter, and watch all the human traffic. It is a glorious day to do it.

So, whattaya gonna do? Sit there procrastinating and solving the problem? (IME, the creation of a solution leads inexorably to other problems ;))

Or go out and do some really constructive procrastination?!!:cool:

I used to procrastinate, but these days I tend to put it off for another time.

Procrastination is indeed an art.. I can't wait to do it again!

I used to get a bit of a kick out of folk peering into the car, or rushing accross the street to ask if they could see "those weird doors" etc..

but the novelty is starting to wear off.. well.. slowly..

I feel like I should print up pre-prepared pamphlets about the car..

I tend to inhabit the Walkerville/North Adelaide/Adelaide space. You can usually see the car parked out front of the Lion on random evenings during the week.

Random adelaide road observation for the day :

If you are travelling east down Melbourne st, and then turn left into Mann Tce at 60 kph with the foot down, in third gear, with DSC and TC off, it takes about 5 seconds before the back end kicks in after a massive fish tail. I have reliably proved this after my third test.

For scientific purposes, I need to perform a few more tests under the same conditions to arrive at an absolute conclusion, however.

dbb, I work in the burnside area, fridays are my off day. Live in the manningham area. Will probably be at the Lion sunday for lunch.

The mx5 is my daily driver, the 7 and 8 live in the shed except for weekends. the 8 gets more use, the 7 has been babied since new and only sports 26,000km. The 8 will outdo those numbers in the not too distant future.

So far I have seen one red, blue, yellow and black (besides mine) RX8. Last Thurs I saw a velocity red turn right onto rundle street, female inthe passenger seat................your car?

Will keep an eye out for your car near the lion and will leave my business card on your window.

AMG, that would be my car turning onto Rundle. Every day between 5pm and 6pm. I work near you, in Glenunga, in the building where Next Byte is.

I'll be at the Lion tomorrow for the Rugby about 6:30, but will probably also swing by about 1pm for a drink or two.

I actually went up to Hahndorf. I scored a park directly out the front of the pub. I had the german sausages experience (a Kransky, Bratwurst and Brockwurst, plus saurkraut(sp?). No lowenbrau in stock, so I had some dark Hoffbrau.

Mention of the Lion reminds me of the good old days when Adelaide had the grand prix: what a crowd that pub used to entertain! I only missed one Adelaide gp, whereas one visit to Melbourne for formula 1 was quite enough!

Was actually within smelling distance of the Lion a few week-ends ago, attending a wedding at St Mark's College, as well as seeing Argentina play Ireland. Drove down in the sti.... due to take delivery of my titanium 8 in 12 days time.

For those of you in Southern states, last night was one of the greatest sporting achievements in this nation's history. Any Kiwis out there: go easy on your players when they sneak home, they were just thoroughly out-classed.

the kids says "oh no way, they beat me even more than mum and dad did!"

so the judge says "ok, then I place you in the ward of your grandparents"

the kid quickly pipes up with "shit no, they are worst than my aunt and uncle, they beat me three times as much"

so the judge scratches his head, and asks the kid "so who then exactly do you want to live with son?"

the kiwi kid replies immediately with "The All Blacks sir!"

"the what?" flusters the judge.

"The All Blacks sir", says the kid, ".. they never BEAT anyone !"
