Hey everybody is 3:30am and i can't sleep so i figured i should tell you all why. Me and a Friend left his house at midnight to visit a friend that lives in rural Pensilvana (im way to F*ck up to use spell check so forgive) then again wat part of Pennsy isn't rural, but anyway we got to her house at 12:30am and stayed till 1:30am, if any of u live on the east coast then u no its snowing. So we started back home road were slipery we knew we did 35 in a 45. So were driving on this rural winding road toward I-95 (Taylorsville Rd) when we come off a bend turning Right and boom my firends 2002 VW GTI VR6 started to slide left, so doing what a smart driver would do he steered in the direction the rear was sliding there wasn't enough time to regain control and the car silded and the passenger side (my seat) hit a telephone pole at about 35-40 mph. To give u a visual the frame is shot, car is totaled, all the airbags are out, the passenger side windows are gone, the seat i was in is about 1 foot back from where it was, and the car in general looks like a pretzel. We came to a dead stop in about .5 sec then the car just flew into the ditch, i had wanted to give bk a sweatshirt to the girl we were visiting, but instead she let me have it cuz it was freezing cold outside i forgot to take the hood off when i got into the car thats wat stoped 90% of the glass coming at me, my shoulder hit either the drivers head or the shoulder rest, feels either pulled or fractured right now, the driver said he's fine for the most part, im a little shooken up coming about _ that close to death, ill try and get u photos and what not so u can attually c this, it 4:11am right now so i'll think ill call it a night.

B4 I go not that u'll listen to me, cuz i no i didn't b4 this happened, DRIVE SAFELY and dont drive in sleet/snow its not worth it. Good Night and MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Yeah... sorry man... hope you're not suffering too much... and can still enjoy christmas.

Look at it this way, the car was presumably insured... and noone is in hospital... somthing like this will probably make you a better driver in the long run... I know it did for me.

Last time I drove is really heavy snow at 3am I was in my mothers range rover... it was miles from anywhere and we saw a car about 10 feet off the road in a tree... suspended over a river... I actually turned round to see if there was anyone in it. There wasn't... as they had already been rescued, but the worst thing was that as I approached that bend I thought... shit I better be careful, or I'll be in that river.. then I noticed that someone else hadn't made it.

Polak, sorry to hear about your crash. Hope that shoulder gets better, and it's nice to know that nobody got seriously injured.

Oh, wow :eek:You poor thing!

What a way to start of Christmas- but I'm very glad you're relatively ok- I was sliding all over the road on the way to my mom's last night at 7pm, and I was just in Virginia where we got almost nothing- I can't imagine what you guys must have been driving in.

But again, glad to hear you're basically ok- give us an update when you've got time.

It's OK if they are V rated too... that's up to 149 I think... I doubt the GTI can go that fast.

Hi Polak,

I'm glad to hear that you're (mostly) alright. The close calls can help us realize how fast things can go wrong on the road.

I'll never understand "all seasons" on sports/sporty cars. In this case though Z summer tires would have gotten you killed probably..
