Exclamation INSURANCE(Please Help)

I will hopefully be purchasing a 2008 mazda RX8 within a few weeks. The only thing that worries me is the Car Insurance price because it's a sportscar. I know they all vary but if anyone could please post some round about numbers on thier insurance price and mabey even car note it would be greatly appreciated and would hopefully get me closer to buying this car. I currently own a 2003 mazda 6 and would like to compare how much more this car will cost me.
Thanks everyone.

it really depends on your location, your status, and your driving history.

Im paying about 2.2K per year right now. Full coverage with 500 ded. I have 1 ticket for 2 points about 2 years ago, it was for a stop sign, I DID stop, fuxking NYPD bullshit it on me, one more year and it will be out of my record. insurance didnt change.

Mind you when I first got my car about almost 3 yrs ago, it was about 3.8 K for a whole year. I was 25 back then.

You should ask your agent to see how much it will cost.

Go do a few more shopping online, like Geico, esurance, travlers, and progressive. these companies can give you an instant quote.

I can post anything on here and it won't have anything to do with you.
Your best course of action is just to call your broker or go online and an estimate.
Whatever people post on here won't help with your budgeting or whatever else you need the premium for.

So I'll post that I pay $4.50/yr for full coverage. That's as helpful as the post above this one

I pay under $391.25 semi-annually, and that includes full coverage on the one I drive, and comprehensive (which is relatively cheap) on the one that sits in the garage and doesn't move... blew the engine. Both are RX-8's. I'm 25, no speeding tickets, clean record. If you removed the comprehensive on the one, it'd probably be $350 semi-annually for full insurance.

I own a 2004, you'll be buying brand new... that might cause a bit of a difference. You can always call insurance companies to get much better quotes.

You also have to figure in whether you're using it as a daily driver (I am) and if so, how long your commute is (mine is one mile, so that makes my price drop like crazy). Area you live in makes a difference, there's so many factors it's tough to say.

Just bought a 2008 rx8 (25k loan) no record of anything, 2 accidents not at fault (a tire flew into my window, and someone hit me in a parking lot that their insurance paid it all). Paying just over 2k/year. I am 23.

I drive an '05 MT, live about 2 miles from work, have no tickets, and am 29 years old. I pay about $1400 per year for my insurance. I pay roughly $300 more per year for my rx-8 than I did for my '01 4-door Dodge Stratus.

I went in to my insurance agent the week before I bought the car to get an estimate on what the rate would be. I mentioned to her that I was concerned because the rx-8 is a sports car as opposed to the 4-door Dodge Stratus I drove at the time... which was anything but a sports car.

At first she didn't see what the big deal was because the rx-8 came up as a 4-door in their system. Well I came back a week later driving the rx-8. She saw me pull up and as soon as I walked in the door she asked me how in the hell that car was a 4-door. I gave her the VIN and it came up again in their system as a 4-door. When we finished the paper work she asked if she could come out and look at the car. So I opened it up and showed her how the 4 doors worked.

I'm paying $1800/yr for full coverage with State Farm. I'm 21 and have a ton of discounts; good grades, defensive driving, state farm driving program, and anti-theft device. That's with a wreckless driving (25+ mph over limit) and a speeding ticket.

I'm paying $1440/yr with full coverage, $500 deductible, under Wawanesa Insurance. I'm 24 and have 1 speeding ticket on record. I was paying $1240/yr before the ticket.

I think the average insurance rates are lower than others in this class (like S2000, 350z)

I work for statefarm. right now im paying 552 for 6months. that is with Liab, Comp and Coll at 500, Personal Injury at 5000, Uninsured and underinured, towing at 120 and rental at 30.

if i would of bought a 350z it would of been 650 for 6months. state farm has the rx8 as a 4door car not a sport car. not sure what other ins company have it at.

$700 per year full coverage with at least a couple of tickets a year, USAA

The 8's coverage was surprisingly not much more than the n/a '95 Eclipse I drove before.

as you can see the rates people pay vary greatly...I dont understand why people compare rates. Or worse, people saying someone pays too much when they're situation is completely different than the other person.

I'm 26, have full-coverage, paying $2,400/year

In the past three years I have:
One 2-point CA violation for speed over 100
One 1-point violation
One claim

Hope that helps

Exactly the same for me, $1500/year: 24 years old, 1 speeding ticket (3 years ago), $1k deductable, from Geico.

Can't wait to hit 25, I'm sure it will drop quite a bit.

Also, I agree, it seems to be cheaper to insure than other sports cars, perhaps because of the 4-door element. You'll make up the difference in gas consumption, though...

I pay nothing for insurance. If something ever happens, my plan is to leave the scene as fast as possible.

Get some quotes from a few different insurers. Do we look like insurance adjusters to you?

With 200 ded I pay about 425 every 6 months. It's classified as a 4 dr coupe, so that probably keeps the rates down.

OTO, my 20 yr old daughter with a 1999 Corolla is on my policy too and I pay 1200/6 months for her, with 1 fender bender.

So if you are young, chances are you will be paying no matter what car you drive - might as well enjoy the ride with the 8 :-)
