Disclaimer: This thread is not about animal rights so no I dont want to get into a internet argument with you over my beliefs, I just had an interesting day and thought I would share.....

This morning I drove 2 hours to my sisters house to go to her local "Dogwood Festival" to protest a Sea Lion exhibit. My sister had gone ahead of time and obtained the proper permit as she always does before we demonstrate. The permit listed the day, time and exact location we would be demonstrating. All we do is stand there with signs.. Thats it. We dont yell, disturb the peace, block people from watching the show.. Nothing. A few of us where standing there and my sister says " how long do you think it will take before someone sicks the cops on us?" My guess was 5 minutes... and I head the nail on the head. A lady who was one of the event coordinators came over with one of the Sea Lion trainers and introduced her. She said she wanted to tell us some information about there show, I quickly told her I had already seen there website and I was aware of who they are and what they where doing, so she alked away. We showed our permit to the other lady who went to get cops anyways. All of a sudden 6 cops come rushing in like me (all 5'1 of me) and my 5'2 sister with a broken foot where terrorists! They jumped down our throats so we produced our permit for them as well. This midget cop with a napoleon complex says that he "dosent think the permit was done correctly and that he is the SGT on duty at the moment so any permit signed by another officer while issued was not valid." So if we did not leave the premises right then we where going to be arrested.... evne though we have a permit saying we could be there. One officer then pulls out of his ass that the city had discussed that if there was goign to be any "demonstrating" during the festival that it would only be allowed in front of City hall. I asked where I could see this written in the rules for the city, festival, ANYTHING... Its not written anywhere and he pretty much just kept dancing around me asking him where I could see that in writing. The little napoleon gets in my sisters face and starts yelling "leave or I will arrest you" over and over again. So I sat lets go, as we are walking away to go to the Police Department my sister is obviously upset and still ranting.. Yet walking away and the jerk starts to go after her with handcuffs! I got in front of him and said, "she is leaving, let her go, she will calm down... So he backed off... We went to the PD and the officer there who was super awesome looked up all the festival rules, demonstration laws, EVERYTHING!.. and he agreed that we where right as well as his SGT!.. But he advised us that he could not tell us it was ok to go back out there, in other words, we would be arrested anyways... With our legal permit.
So we ditched our signs and just walked back over to the area, wearing our animal rights shirts. We had so many people come up to us just by seeing our shirts and express there concerns or come up to ask our opinions on the Sea Lion exhibit! We stood right in the center of the exhibits crowd and a little girl next to me says, "mommy, why are that seals eyes grey? Is it blind?" The mother told her she didnt know so I proceeded to tell her that yes, the Sea Lion is in fact 26 years old which would be equivilant to my 80 year old great grandmother, is in fact blind (which is something they boast about on there website) and they stll make her perform. The whole crowd turned there attention away from the carni people and listened to us as we told them all about the Lions, the company there with them etc... So they kinda screwed themselves by making us leave. We would have just stood there with our signs and then left... So that turned out WAY better than expected......

And then.... We decided to go to the movies...
We went to see baby momma. 2 ladies walk in after the show has started with a toddler around a year and a half. They come sit at the top a few seats down from us. The kid is pitching a fit, throwing popcorn everywhere and then he starts crying. So of course the mother did the right thing, she starts slapping the kid telling him to shut up! After enduring this for 15 minutes we got up and notified the usher. So the mom finally takes the child out to get him inder control or slap him around somemore... Then the girl who is sitting there alone starts talking on her cell phone!!! My friend Micheal politely leaned over and said" I paid good money to see this movie, would you please take your phone call outside?" She says, "I payed good money to see it too, Im on the phone with my sister, its important! I aint going outside, its raining!" Then she starts mumbling to the person on the phone how this asshole next to her had the guts to say something to her, she talk on her GD cell phone if she wants to... So I made it obvious that I was goign to get the manager. He asked me where she was and I told him I would take him, I didnt care if she knew I had gone to get him. As we walked in she started walking out so I told him that was her.
Peace and quiet..... Then about 20 minutes later, the one with the kid comes back! She is pretty quiet and the kid is to, until the other one comes in about 5 minutes later stomping up the isle.... "that bitch over there went and told on me for talking on my phone, Im gonna kick her ass when we get out of here".. Blah Blah Blah... Keeps getting louder and louder about how shes going to stomp my ass etc... So again me and my sister get up to leave. My sister makes it past them but when I tried to go by she put her leg up and blocked me! So I just climbed over the set in front of me. She starts YELLING in the movie theatre that she is going to stomp my ass and whatever else she was babbling about. Of course my sister gets half way the theatre and finally turns around in front of everyone and yells "bring it bitch! Comeone, lets go outside!" ( my 5'2 95 lbs sister..... saying this to a 5'9 350 lbs black girl) So I grab my sis and go get the manager AGAIN! This time he moved us to a different theatre that was playing the same movie but was 15 minutes behind. But they come in and get us saying they cant find the girls. So we come back out, show them who it was and the security guard escorts them out. The mouthy one is going on about how do they know it was them that started it and not us until they informed her that other people came out, complained about her and left! She threw her drink at the security guard and caused a huge sceen. They finally got them out of the building but of course they had to stand outside to wait for there ride. So we couldnt leave because they where threatening us and my sister has a very memorable and distinct car. So our movie lets out and we have a few people walking up saying thank you for getting them thrown out and for standing up to them... The poor manager had to give out a bunch of free passes because so many people came out complaining about them... SO, I dont know how baby momma ends now.. But what a day!

Janna, you are absolutely a mess girl, but I'm glad you stand up for what you believe in. Havent seen the movie, but I've heard it's a riot...... I've been in all day griping 'cause it's raining like crazy, even though my garden needs it, I don't like to get the 8 out in the rain, so It's Sunday and I'm stuck at home, by my own valition....Its almost 3 am, I am TOTALLY bored...nothing on the tube but infomercials, hubby is in the middle of putting some reports together so I can't talk to him either on the phone or via email cause it's an important slide show type thing..and I have 50 million things to do tomorrow away from the house and I couldnt sleep if I tried! Hows the arm healing?

ya know one of these days we gotta meet! I think sometimes its a good thing that only one of us is at the dragon at any given time! I dunno if the guys could handle both! ;)

I think so too... Only I think I would be too shy to be on camera. My sister would totally do it. . . It would be like a double female version of Bam Margera. We have been torturing our parents like that for years for free and he gets paid to do it. :lol:
