View Full Version : Considering the "Ram Air intake" Saphus 04-26-2008, 10:08 PM What are your thoughts? This is the one by the way... http://www.srmotorsports.com/RX8_Performance_Intake_Parts.html mysql 04-26-2008, 10:35 PM you're better off with racing beat's revi and ram air duct, or oem intake with rb's air duct. nycgps 04-27-2008, 12:53 AM dont waste ur money on SR's garbage. Their claims of hp are fake as well. Dont buy anything from them. Fanman 04-28-2008, 06:17 AM Way overpriced for the stuff they sell. Saphus 04-28-2008, 09:37 AM Ok so I've looked at some of RBs stuff... Looks pretty good. pricy as I'd expect... but not too bad... Now i did a search and found a few things for the stock airbox like the restrictor walls... (went ahead and removed those) and isn't there something for the "Screen" on the end of the pipe inside the box? doesn't look like a good thing to remove far as I can see... Is there a particular reason that the people on these forums dont do the whole High flow, cone air filter deal? what is it about the rx8 that makes it so touchy to how it takes in its air? mysql 04-28-2008, 09:39 AM maf sensor requires smooth airflow to properly measure how much air is entering the engine. When you put a short ram intake or something that doesn't flow properly, the sensor goes ape shit. nycgps 04-28-2008, 10:30 AM Ok so I've looked at some of RBs stuff... The walls ? u mean the one on both sides of the pipe? if thats what you're talking about, those walls are there to keep the noise level down. Dont remove those screens. if u remove them. ur idle gonna get funky & you might stall at highway speed. |
