I am putting a sub and amp in the trunk. I thought this got posted before but does someone have a wire diagram so i know which wires to tap into before the amp?
Also, what should i do about the remote turn on on the amp? It doesn't have the feature that detects soudn and turns on.

The factory amp is located in the trunk under the rear deck. The blue/black plug has all the speaker connections. You can tap into them here. It would be easiest. Contrary to what everyone says, the rear speakers are in fact playing full range. They just don't do it very well. You can use these speakers to tap into. For an amp turn on wire find a switched 12 volt ignition wire. There should be one going to the factory amp. If it isn't strng enough to turn on your amp, you will need to wire in a relay. We can get to the details of that if you should need them.

Ok sounds easy enough. I tap into the speaker wires before the amp though right? not the wires going from the amp to the speakers.
Also whats the best/easiest way to tap the wires? Something besides cutting and splicing.

Yes, tap into them before the amp not after. The key will be in figuring out which wires they are. You'll need a wiring schematic to figure this out.

Ok, i have the wire schematic, i already ran the power cable from the battery. I must be an idiot because i can't figure out this wire schematic. There are 2 plugs going into the factory amp in the trunk. One of them has 4 wires and the other has a bunch. Can someone tell me which wires i need to tap into for the hi-lo convertor and the remote wire for the amp.
Thanks,
Matt
Link the schematic you're using please - maybe then I/we could help.
Kev.

Ok, i got it all finished. I am going to post pictures as soon as i get a chance. That way everyone else won't even need the wire schematic.
