How many artists do we have in the Forum? I don't consider myself an artist, but I paint/draw whenever I have a chance (Not very often). Attached is one of my drawings. I drew this during the 97 GP. It is called "#1 Doohan". Unfortunately, I don't have more of my drawings in digital format. I usually work with pencil, colored pencil, and watercolors.

W:eek:W ! That is really cool. How big is it and how long did it take you. You applied watercolor and defined the drawing with pencil, right? Any techniques you would like to share?

Edit: Is that the "The personified River Nile in Rome", Vatican Museum? I'm almost certain is not Micheangelo.

very cool. it has a Yes album cover by Roger Dean resemblence. by the way Les Paul what kind of Les Pau do you play? my 15 year old son started taking guitar lessons about 2 years ago with a fender squire beginner guitar and now has a Les Paul custom and can play amazing. He played eric johnson's white cliffs of dover for me from beginning to end the other day and he sounds just like the record.

RX-GR8 I have a Les Paul Standard in Black (with Zaino on it!) along with twelve other guitars. I love it. Cliffs of Dover may be one of the most challenging songs a guitarist can learn. Hats off to your son. He must be very talented.

Yes exactly, you start with a pencial outline first, then create a foundation of black water color, building up each level, as you go. then you eventually stop with the water color, and then you continue with different hardness of penicals. You can use just 1 pencial but you may not get the darkness you desire.

It only about 12"x 8" special watercolor paper. But it took a long time to do...

I have got to say you got talent bro! That is awesome.... When i see drawings like this, i really think computers have a long way to go to draw things like this naturally.
There is tons of rendering programs that draw amazing images and graphics but the they dont look as real as human drawings...

Props to you

Okay, so it's a little wierd. Pastel and paint on board. "Bird from the Wrong Side of The Tracks" inspired by Ted Geisel.

"Edit": Wonder why this didn't load like I'd hoped.
