Just Bought mine about 2 months ago. I'm 37, and will be 38 in a few months. I say the 8 is for anyone who appreciates a great and unuique car with lots of style.

Why should age be a limiting factor in having a fine driving car? Why should it be unusual for a 40+ person to be seen in a 8? Most people here choose to drive an 8 regardless of age.

21 here, will be 22 in June!

I've met a few other 8 drivers around town recently. Their ages have ranged from 18 - 43, but the one thing we all had in common was that we are all in love with our car.

I agree with your buddy.
You are way too young to be driving an RX8 you should buy the 350Z instead.

You're right....I'm 51 going on 52. :-) You are forgetting the demographic of myself and others who had sports cars when we were young and carefree, had to give them up for 20 years to raise families, and are now "empty nesters". We have my wife's Outback for the winter, the dogs, camping, bikes, kayaks, etc, and we have the RX-8 for fun. We only need to be 50% practical now.

25 , i was 24 when i bought it. and and far as age and your car is concerned, you made the right choice and should not be worried about it at all . Its all about the love of a bad ass car that makes you happy. at least its not a corvette lol then i would be worried.

I drove this for two years, and a 90 hp Fiat in Germany for the summer, so I earned the 8 :)

Who cares about the age of other owners, or frankly other owners at all? I'm not always a huge fan of the Mazda 3 demographic, but I know that I don't have to interact with them if I don't want to, so I don't concern myself with such issues. If you enjoy a car, who cares what other people think?

I drove this for two years, and a 90 hp Fiat in Germany for the summer, so I earned the 8 :)Hm... then I guess I deserve the 8 as well.
My parents had something like this (http://www.bilrim.no/trabant-dyr.jpg), so that's what I started to drive when I was 18-19... (26 HP, baby!!!) then later my first own car was similar to this (http://www.ladakerho.fi/info/takaveto/kuvat/1200etu.jpg). But inbetween, I also had the (bad) luck getting to drive one of these (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/3/31/Dacia_1300.JPG/800px-Dacia_1300.JPG) (shivers).

Oh, by the way... I'm 44 now. :)

I am 28.

I have to admit, I largely got this car because I identify with it personally. My biggest goal in getting my first nice car was getting one a friend could walk into a parking lot and guess which car suited me best.

I would never buy a Porshe because that car is owned by an F*tard middle-executive who likes to wear blue jeans, ugly sunglasses, and a poorly fitted basball cap over his receding hairline. I would never buy a Corvette, because it's driven by him, or 48-year-old curly mullet lady and her cocapoo/spaniel mix. Likewise, I don't own a ford focus with $4000 dollar rims and a not-yet-painted body kit... all lowered so I can get in without tripping over the crotch of my jeans.

I love seeing people I identify with driving the car I identify with. It's not about their age, it's about their values. It just so happens that age sometimes correlates. Then again, it often does not. Just keep your "I gone fishin'" baseball cap and your sideways, off-color Oakland A's hat out of my car's sister, okay?

Or far too old. Either way, buy the 350Z. It is far more stylish for a guy like you. Someone in your age group will never understand the controls in the Mazda. The 350Z is much simpler. Buy that!

Bought my RX8 new when I was 23, I'm 25 now. I've seen a very diverse group of ownership of this vehicle and everyone has the same likes for the vehicle. I think between the modifications and small things people do to make their RX8 personal it ends up taking the shape of the person who owns it.

I know the age thing has been debated up and down. While everyone else partied in high school and college I had my nose to my books, finished school and got myself a great job. I bought the car as a "good job" to myself!
