Took my car in to get my winter tires swapped out with my summer tires, which I store at my local Mazda dealership. First thing, they lost the key for my wheel locks and had to order me a new one.

Then, they must have over torqued one of the lug nuts on the wheel and they had to rethread the slug(?). Don't know much about this, but they insisted the rethreaded slug is just as good as a new one. I wanted them to replace the slug since the car is practically new (2k miles), and they f'ed up. I don't want to be stuck with a larger bill in 5 years because the threads have worn down because of shoddy workmanship or whatever.

Thoughts? Am I overreacting?

Not over reacting. My dealer destroyed my wheel locks and key. Don't let the dealer do ANYTHING to your car unless you absolutely have to!

Wheel studs are not a pricey item. However, they are a safety item. If it was my car, I would demand a new stud and a new nut.

Just my opinion.
