I work doing home health physical therapy near the Dragon. If anyone wants some other roads to visit as the dragon gets pretty crowded and patroled I can help. Just reply back and tell me how far you are willing to travel to drive them. I assume since this rally has been going on for years now that you know most of the roads. If there is interest I can make a list or for anyone with gps give coordinates.

Sweet deal!! Are you gonna be at DGRR? Maybe a few of us could do a little side run one day.

doubt that i will be there on Staurday or Sunday but will be be working in the area Friday. May be able to make it out on Sunday.

28 south towards Franklin is a great road. It is a few miles east of Robbinsville a great side road to take if you are driving in from the east.

Yellow creek which is right near the dragon is a fun road that comes out near Fontana Village. Cherohala skwy (hwy 143) is good with great views but speeding is heavily enforced.

The Nantahala Gorge is great, whitewater rafting views.

Blue Ridge Parkway is hard to speed on but is still worth it. Closer to Asheville is hwy 151 and 276 that both intersect the parkway kind of a mini dragon. I highly recomend these, but they are a long way from Robbinsville.

Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest (NC 1134) is good heads west from the dragon.

Not as close as your ex.

BTW, you ever think about getting a car with PADDLE shifters. :lol2:

Sorry about the hijack. It's nice to have the info on the alternate roads for when I finally get back down there this fall.
