anyways i left my car at the dealership since the dashboard decided to light up like a christmas tree

i get a call saying i need a new battery and 6 different codes were popping up

so anyways they always tend to ask me did i close my gas cap properly?

i can operate a motor vehicle therefore i'm sure i can operate the gas cap

note the part number

Now for the old gas cap

:Eyecrazy:

theres no instructions or writing

ok so i know wtf kind of thread is this?

if you notice your gas cap is made of white plastic and has no writing on it
and tend to have a dealership that tries to charge you a diagnostic fee because the gas cap is lose, its time to order the new gas cap its 11.95 at Finishline but since i'm in canada they want $17 for UPS shipping alone, the dealership in canada for the part was $21.05

i didn't realize my battery was the one that came with the car made by panasonic

this concludes my rant for part# FEY2-42-250

Why is your old one so dirty? Do you wipe the cap and tank opening after every fill up? Shipping is ridiculous for something that small.

Mine was swapped last year under warranty. I'm assuming you are out of warranty?

I'm on my second gas cap because of a couple CELs. Mazda can design a car, but can't design a problem free gas cap the first time around?

Things that make you go.....HUM?

The tech told me to make sure I hear at least 6-8 clicks when I tighten.

the new gas cap locks in one click compared to the 50 clicks or whatever from before with the old style

as for my old gas cap i am not sure as to why it was so dirty, i'm still under warranty until 130,000km
