Bills Sue 'Kill Bill' Director

HOLLYWOOD, CA -- Quentin Tarantino, writer and director of the hit film “Kill Bill,” was hit himself this week with a class action lawsuit from the Bills of America.

"You have no idea, the number of death threats I've received just since that dang movie came out," complained Bill Smythe of North Platte, Nebraska.

"Me and a bunch of my Bill friends decided 'Enough is enough!' So we're suing that Tarantino fellow for undue mental anguish and harm."

Mr. Smythe is a member of the Bills of America, an on-line community for those named Bill. “We’ll let in a few of them Williams, too, but they tend to be a bit snooty for us Bills.”

“We was all typing away in our Bill chat room about that movie, and one after the other, Bills were sharing their stories of how they’ve been almost kilt, or nearly maimed. We had to do something. Bills don’t take this kind of abuse laying down.”

In addition to suing for mental anguish, the claimants also contend that Tarantino willfully and knowingly placed all Bills in harm’s way when he created the title of his film.

Robert Rigdon, attorney for the Bills added, “In these times, you have to be careful. You tell the world to ‘Kill Bill,’ and there will be some loonies out there who take that as not only a suggestion but a command.”

“You can’t just go around telling people to kill someone, and then expect it not to happen. We are asking Mr. Tarantino to take responsibility for the untold horrors and harm that has befallen all Bills, due to his inciting others to kill Bills.”

Bills throughout the United States are reporting unusually high numbers of assaults and incidents since the release of “Kill Bill.”

Bill Spord of Camden, Maine provided one harrowing account of a recent near-death experience.

“Why just the other day, I went out to get my mail, across the road don’t you know, and what do you think happened? A bright red pick-up truck ‘bout ran me over, that’s what. Then I open up my newspaper, and right there it was. Large letters, ‘Kill Bill.’ Right then I knew that was no accident. Someone was out to get me.”

Bill Smeditker, of Plains, Kansas believes “Kill Bill” has created a climate where society sees it as acceptable to kill Bills. “It used to be that Bills were your next door neighbors. Your buddies. The guys you’d call up to come help you paint your house, then you’d go out for a beer. But now, Bills are a target. I can’t go out to Walgreen’s without someone shouting at me ‘Kill Bill.’ That ain’t funny.”

Dr. Bill Jones, a family physician in St. Paul, Minnesota, is expected to be a key witness for the prosecutors in the upcoming Bills vs. Tarantino trial. Dr. Jones recently completed research that documented that in the time since the move “Kill Bill” was first released, over 3,000 Bills have died. “I don’t think that’s a coincidence, do you?” asked Dr. Jones.

“I don’t like going to school any more,” whispered Billy Scott, a nine year old at Central Elementary in Seattle, Washington. “The other kids yell ‘Kill Bill,” and chase me all over the schoolyard. And I get notes in class. From girls. They say ‘Kiss Bill.’ That’s just gross.”

William Pearsly-Snote, IV of the Upper West Side Pearsly-Snotes of New York City, gave an example of how the movie has changed his family. “My wife is expecting our first child in a few days. Our family has a long tradition of naming the first male child William. How can we in good conscience saddle our child with a name that will incite others to abuse him? We might as well name him Kickme or Punchme, it would have the same effect. Damn that Tarantino!”

Mr. Tarantino’s publicists declined to comment, stating that Mr. Tarantino was busy editing “Kill Bill 2,” and could not be bothered.
