Dealer rang yesterday to say that the original polished alloys had been withdrawn.

(I can remember a thread on American site saying something similar)

Apparently mazda did not think that the wheels were shiny enough and have used another manufacturer.

I do know that some of the original wheels have been shipped to the UK though as dealer has a set of 4 he ordered a few weeks ago for another customer.

Not really sure what the difference betwen the two sets are but have gone ahead with the order anyway. They are apparently having to be shipped from Japan (due 15th Dec HOPEFULLY after I get my 8!!)

Anybody know any more than this??

I know one of the dealers has got the polished wheels on their demo because I saw it at Silverstone before they picked them up.

They didn't look as bling, bling as I thought they might.:D

More shiny does mean more cleany, so I'd only recommend them for brilliant black owners who are never going to have a shammy out of their hands anyway!

Polished might not be as shiny, but it sounds easier to repair any chips or scrtahes than chrome plated.

Dave

Are you sure that the new alloys are chrome plated??

My dealer did not know what the difference between the old & new was. For the money I may well look at other alloys if they are plated.
