at almost 4000lbs how is it beating the 3100lb z06 and ~3600lb 911 turbo?

superior drive by wire system and AWD

Uhhhh, no. It's clearly underrated as AWD is only going to hurt the dyno numbers. Also, DbW won't do a damn thing to increase power output...

When you do a dyno on AWD cars, how does it work? Do you dyno the front too? I guess my question is how do you rate the power going to both front and rear tires?

You have to have an AWD dyno. The front and rear rollers are tied together I believe.

I didn't know this car weighed so much! I should've expected it though...

There is an AWD dyno. The front & rear rollers are linked together. On some cars, like DSM you can drop out the rear drive shaft from the front of the transfer case.& then you can dyno just front wheels that way also.

I wouldn't doubt that Nissan under-rated this car. There are already dyno's out there suggesting so.

Just like the last Supra it has a motor designed to run FI. I think the 480 or so hp is really whp. From what I remember the new ZO6's dyno somewhere around 470whp.

i dont like it. its overpriced and HUGE. even if the R34 costed more, i would still get the R34

you just said that it was overpriced, and now you are saying if something was more than that you would buy it? huh?

If they purposely posted/advertised weaker HP numbers then let the magazines test them then nissan marketing is genius.

It actually doesn't look that big in person. I was surprized.

but if you compare the sizes of the R34 to the R35, you will know what im talking about.

you are making decision about which car is superior despite real world performance numbers, based on 2 cars you have not driven before because one is smaller than the other one? make no sense at all

There is a dyno floating around of the new GT-R and it is definitely underrated from the factory.

I've seen that picture cheeto, but it still looks smaller and better in person. Pictures do not do it justice. I felt like I was gazing at automotive perfection.

im no genius or anything but if the gt-r is cheaper/quicker than the z06 and 911 turbo how is that overpriced? imo the z06 and the 911 are overpriced if anything

I have no first hand experience with the GTR, but from all the hype surrounding it and all the anticipation, it sure does look like it met all the expectations.

First car in a long time, that ive seen such a huge following for.

Does anyone know the official chassis code? I overheard a Nissan rep at an auto show. He said that it would not be called the R35 and would have a new letter designation.

R35 is the chasis code,

video of dyno, it has that same high pitched scream as the R32-R34 GT-Rs at least from granturismo :p

if I have the money around, I dont mind to have a GT-R.

At least with GT-R Im sure I will be able to smoke almost any cars on the road. Even those *heavily* modified ones.

Who cares if it weight like 3800 lbs? it can still beat a Porshce. Im happy, for 1/2 the price. and just throw another 2K to the GT-R with HKS HiperMax, it can go another 2 seconds faster @ the track. This engine has mad potential ...

Z06 is a joke compare to the GT-R.

Z06 is anything but a Joke, it still rapes just about all the other cars on the road.
it probably has better top end with 7.0L of displacement. its known to leave the 911 turbo and ferrari f430 behind with its top end power in the straights

I wouldn't call z06 a joke. But I am happy that GTR is living up to its hype, perhaps exceeding the hype.
I do see alot of reviews where GTR is a FAST car, but lacks the driver feed back the other comparable cars give out. Sadly that's going to be a trend, as some stated that drivers at the review preferred the m3 for fun factor.
Really makes me wonder about the V spec version. That'll be an interesting match up with ZR1...if what nissan is saying is true

i still dont know which review you are talking about. Link? All the reviews seem to agree that its one of the easiest car to handle and drive fast... The only review with GT-R and M3 in it is the german one, and they didnt say anything like that. There is one of the video reviews that said they prefer the feel of the porche GT3 despite that its slower..
