Hey ppl! was wandering if anyone with a BLue rx8 with a trunk with no spoiler would be willing to trade trunks with me? Mine has the factory optional spoiler on it. If anyone is willing to do this i would really appreciate and let me know so we can set-up a time to do it, Thanks again!

Yeah, Jenkins is correct. I need a trunk lid with no holes so i can upgrade spoilers. My current trunk and spoiler are in great condition. I have been meaning to send you a PM about this, but have been swamped. If your interested... let me know.

Have you tried talking with a dealer that has used 8s about trading trunks lids for a small fee? If I remember right you take care of your car so you would have a mint lid to offer them. Just a thought

Mine has been shop painted to match ... IMO it's not exactly the same color

Thanks for the support people. I found someone to swap trunks with, and who is also going to buy my complete appearance package. YAY! He's getting a good deal on the appearance package, and im getting a trunk. Works out for everyone..

Yeah, i have been planning to sell it since im getting a different kit. I probably could have sold it for a lot more, but since the person coming for the trunk swap is driving a long distance... i decided to part with it for pretty cheap.

I'm looking to buy an 8. However, I prefer the look of them with out a spoiler, but with the appearance package. A lot of the cars I end up finding not surprisingly have the spoiler installed with the appearance package.

I figure if I get a car with a spoiler I could just swap the rear trunk hatch with someone who has an 8 that wants a spoiler (with the same color of course).

How hard would this be to do? Would it just be a matter of unbolting one and bolting on the other? Or would it be a bit more involved?

easy to do with simple hand tools...and someone to help you lift the trunks.

hard part is finding someone to swap out trunks (of the same color)

Well since I'd pretty much do it for free I imagine it wouldn't be to hard to find someone that would want to swap for a $200 option.

Well my near future plans are to get the spoiler less trunk cuz i like the look better, soon as i get new struts im lowering it 2" with sprint springs. I had sprint springs on my 04 eclipse gt and really liked them so ill return to them for my rx8 no matter what anyone else says. And prolly go to Apex-R in Tucson to get them to do a direct port nitrous setup and jump to a 100 shot instead of a 65 that i have now. And yeah those are my plans fpr the next oh say 3 months. But yeah the trunk thing i just like the look of no spoiler better on the lowered 8s is all.

no its a different color. 2004 is Titanium Grey only then in 2006 it changed to galaxy grey... a little darker.

just be careful with the struts.
