just yesterday after work i started my car up and a lot of smoke came out of the tailpipes. it was almost like it was like the flooded smoke that pours out of the rx8s when they flood. but this smoke was blue!!! yeah yeah yeah i know it's oil...

i got home and opened up the hood and took off the intake and there was a spot on the filter that was covered in oil. min you this spot was only an inch or two in diameter. i proceded further and found that there was oil in the intake tube!!!!!:suspect: :suspect:

i dont have no idea where this came from!!! my questions are

are my plugs bad now?
where did this come from?

i have no mods done to my car besides it is lowered.
it is an 04 automatic ... i baby this car.... i do hit the redline once or twice a day :)

one things i would like to say is thati changed the oil 400 miles ago
this has never happened to me at all... the car also has 70 xxx miles on it and i DO PREMIX

PLEASE HELP this car is my baby !!!

others can tell you more....

it is somewhat common to get oil in the intake, if you look around its been discussed a lot. you may have more than most though, and this doesnt remove the possibility of you having some other issue... but a oil catch can will take care of the issue if its just oil from the fill tube breather...

Oh my god ...

Dude, whoever did the last oil change OVERFILLED the oil. thats what happened. and what u should do not is clean the filter (or replace), drain the oil and refill it back to THE RIGHT LEVEL.

seriously, SEARCH BEFORE YOU POST

Do the bypass mod.

Un plug the hose to the intake from the oil filler spout. Cap it off at the intake then put a filter on the hose.

why go that far to mess with an emission system? if its gonna be tampered with, or unplugged isn't it better to cap them off on both ends and just loose the tube?

just wondering if that was better... then again, that would be the purpose of the oil catch can, no?

then to mention... having oil fumes circulated back into the combustion chamber isn't all that bad. say in piston motors... it does to some extend help give the intake valve seals and guide have some extra degree of lubrication for better sealing. so i would say to leave it alone...just my suggestion

but what do i know?:dunno:

1) Make sure the oil isn't overfilled

2) Some blue smoke at start up is fairly normal with a rotary engine as the oil will leak past the oil control rings when the car sits. Nothing you can do to prevent it, it's normal and won't hurt anything.

3) Don't bother replacing spark plugs.
