I have the same size but its +45mm offset .... 3.75" lip on them With a 245/30 tire on it. And there is no rubbing what so ever.

Here are some rolling shots of my ride.

Question...... why would you go with a 10" wheel but put the smallest tires possible on it? I just think it looks ugly with stretched tires my 2 cents

Fellas im running 275 wide on the rear.

Yes i have driven on them, I actually had them on for about 3 days now actually...

Some mods had to be done to get them to fit, IE:"CNC the hub of the rear rotors and CNC the rear hub on the rims. Abount .8 of an inch was created by doing this. Fenders were also rolled and stretched. I will take good pics of the car this weekend.

I dont bs.. this aint nalin :P

I appreciate the criticism but I prefer the stretched look... and it also made it possible to have the rims and tires without having to roll the fenders or doing any other modifications to the fenders to make them fit.

Really what it comes down to is your own likes and dislikes and I preferred to go with the stretch.

Although I must agree with you bigger tires look just as good on bigger rims.

lol rolled and pulled fender fit that size easily lol nothing special lol. your title made it sound like you are stock and runs that size.

i know subarus running 10 inch wide wheels lol all 4 corner too. just need to get it rolled, pulled, and some camber. fit anything these days.

but imo i dont even want put 275 on my rear, because it just waste more gas and spend more money on tires. we dont have that much torque to put down. but if you like it. hey it looks nice i admit. but i wouldnt do that.

What offset though? Remember im running 25 offset, which is pretty low for our cars. my last set of rims were a 34 or 35 offset on the rear and i still rubbed every now and than even with rolled fenders. I figured if im going with such an agressive offset might as well do it right the first time round. I dont want to run any camber on the car.

Oh i am not lowered "yet" i will be going for a set of Tein H Techs, the rears pretty low as is with the audio in the car so im looking for a minimal drop. ofcourse the front will be dropped an inch or so to get rid of the wheel well space.

Im shopping around for a set of springs now.

Ive got 20x10 iforged aeros in the rear for 2 years now. Had to remove a small piece of plastic towards the rear of the fender but theres no metal on tire contact from the fender. Cars not lowered in the rear because it doesnt need it with that size wheel.

I already bought the H-Techs from a local store. After checking the prices on the net with shipping to Canada I decided its not worth the hassle. In 2 weeks the car will be lowered.

However, i do have 100+ LBS in the trunk of audio equipment the backs are actually right over the tire. I can fit 2 fingers between the top of the wheel and the fender. So i dont want to go to much lower on the rear.

So basically with the .8" of reduction to the hub and wheel........

Surprise...you ended up with about +40 offset....

Plus a lot of cost for the machine shop...plus weakening the hub..and possibly the rims..

Sounds like quite the deal to me ;)

I wanted an agressive setup, i took the necessary steps to get it done properly. I could have ran tons of camber on the car and called it a day, but i did not. Ofcourse safety was number 1 for me, i wouldnt risk ruining a perfectly good set of wheels if they were not structualy sound this to me is common sense. I dont know about you, but i sure dont have a few grand to throw around here and there ;)

So they don't come with the proper offset?

I guess then it would be worth it if thats what you want...

I hope you didn't take too much off the rotor face...

Bit sarcastic?

Just don't try and BS people that +25 offset would fit without all the machining you did.

FYI..I have 18X10.5 rims...and they fit without all the machining....so it is really ALL about the offset

hey Fellas

correct me if im wrong....offset is a factor, yes...but you also have to take into account the type of rim it is...

NgoRX8
03-30-2008, 01:41 PM
the type of rim does plays a role in brake and suspension clearance depending on spoke design. it doesn't play a factor in fender clearance though.

Not much of a ..problem on the rear..

Small caliper and rotor, with almost no protrusion of the caliper.

It is a big problem with wheels without much dish in the front..

yup,

I use 215 50 17's in the winter.

I purchased a set of H-Techs for the car yesterday, it will take a few weeks before the shop gets them, until than I will be shopping for a new set of dampers. I didnt want to lower the car too much. Will post pics when they are installed.

Any recommendations for a decently priced set of Dampers?
