Danm you going to miss out just a wee bit on the graphic experience.lol:lol2:
Try and get one soon, a HDTV is a must for this game, not to mention many games for the PS3!!!!

Without being 100% sure, the screens above are the equivelent of "photo mode" or something similar. But yes, an HDTV will help big time... as the game runs in 1080p @ 60fps while racing, and then at 30fps for replays.
I was on the fence about getting Prologue, not really wanting to pay $40 for a semi-game (but more than a demo), but then I read that GT5 won't be out until 2009, and I can't wait that long.
Then I saw it listed at new egg for $37, plus free shipping-

that did it for me.

Bootleg 03-27-2008, 10:43 AM part of me is really hoping that when the full version comes out PD will give the people who got the prologue some credit towards the full version. don't know if that will happen or not but that sure would be nice. either way, i'm still getting both.
DailyDriver2k5 03-28-2008, 08:34 AM Same here , getting both.
I wish people would stop saying its a 40 dollar demo, the game which has been already previewed by many credible game sites have already raved about this game . Compare GT5 Prolouge to Motorstorm , Motorstorm has 8 tracks compared to GT5 prolouges 6 track, both can be driven in reverse mode, but here is where the diffrence shines. 60+ cars compared to 40+/- vehicles in Motorstorm, split screen racing for two player, no split screen in Motorstorm, Over 20 songs for Gt5 , only 12 songs for Motorstorm. And the kicker,GT5 track will have different layouts per track, for example the Daytona track, you can race is in the standard oval config , or you can race the infield and 3/4 of the oval like the legendary race of the Rolex 24. No different scenarios in Motorstorm. Also 16 online racing compared to 12 online racing. Also Gt5 has the option of tuning plus tuned vehicles of some of cars, example Z-06 , C6R test car. No tuned vehicles in motorstorm or tuning options. I love motorstorm as the next racing nut, as a full game it is sorely lack what a small part of the pie , GT5 prolouge offers.
So for 40 bucks your getting a piece of the full game, for a small piece it is still alot of game compared to full games that are out , but don't offer the rich gaming experience of GT racing.

I played the Japanese demo that came out a couple months back, and I can assure you that the game looks VERY similar to these screenshots. There may be some more wacky effects in these shots, but the game looks just as crisp and sharp as the screens do.
As far as buying Prologue, I'll definitely play it, but can't buy it due to a lack of a PS3 (otherwise I would buy it). One thing that really disappointed me about the demo however, was the driving feel. The cars stayed very stable in corners and would corner well enough, but once you slowed down, you realized why. Low speed maneuvering was excessively limited - It felt like hitting your wheel lock at about 90 degrees in a real car. Once you noticed this, you could NOT ignore it and it drove me nuts. It felt like turning a real life wheel 90 degrees. Needless to say, turning around required a rather huge arc, or strategic use of the e-brake. I REALLY hope this is fixed, because otherwise it was an amazing game.
dynamho 03-28-2008, 03:16 PM I wish they eventually have support to play your own music.

Absinthe 03-29-2008, 12:39 PM Oh man... I can't wait :D I picked up a PS3 last week, and pre-ordered the game today.
I'm tempted to get the Logitech G25 as well to play with a 6 speed shifter + clutch, but my bank account is already pissed off enough as it is lol

SayNoToPistons 03-30-2008, 02:26 PM Will GT5 allow the use of the clutch?
Absinthe 03-31-2008, 07:51 AM I know with the G25 it will: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kh2_kF_2l2U
moRotorMotor 05-10-2008, 07:46 PM I have the G25 with Gran Turismo 5 Prologue and I can assure you the clutch pedal is not necessary. You can still use it, but it makes no difference whether you do or not. Sorry to burst any bubbles you guys might have had.

I believe it supports the Logitech G25 racing wheel, which does indeed have a clutch and 6-speed transmission. I've never used it so not sure how good it is...

moRotorMotor 05-12-2008, 01:08 PM Hmmm when I posted that link it was still in stock. Oh well. $199 is a really good deal. Where did you see $300?
yushinrt 05-13-2008, 08:16 AM G25 is the best steering wheel you can buy on the market. I got g25 and I play gt5 and need for speed prostreet but it so cool ay. The G25 is made of steel not cheap plastic
mysql 05-17-2008, 10:52 PM I just bought the Logitech Driving Force GT Wheel. This wheel came out this month. It doesn't have a clutch like the G25, but given the 6 speed is useless for many cars that have 7 gears, I don't mind it, especially with the $107 price tag I paid.
Every review I read on it said it was solid.
BTW, I have the F1 race car now, and that thing can be difficult to control with the sixaxis. Small changes in steering has it turning directly into walls. So the wheel will fix that problem.
yushinrt 05-17-2008, 10:54 PM man how the hell did you get the f1race car you must be on gt5 for long time lol it cost heaps lol

You prove a valid point, however. The G25 have 3 shifting modes. The normal H-shift, sequential shifting, or paddle shifting. So no real loss if you have a car with 7 speeds.
mysql 05-17-2008, 10:58 PM yes, it's true you can still get into 7th gear, but you're paying 3x the cost basically for the gear shifter, and you end up resorting to the same shifting methods on the GT wheel anyway.
yushinrt 05-17-2008, 11:01 PM i would still like to own g25 but like mysql said i don't know about th price of g25 i mean you get a cluch and a 6gear shifter.even so it 3x the price

mysql 05-18-2008, 06:18 PM no doubt the g25 is the better wheel, but if the clutch doesn't feel like a clutch and you can't use it for 7 speed cars, it's not worth the extra $200.
given how long the g25 has been out, i assume it's a matter of time before they make a new version that corrects the issues.
DailyDriver2k5 05-18-2008, 07:32 PM Have any you tried the Lotus elise 111R tuned? WOW great car, reminds me of a faster RX-8.:)
Trying to get my FordGT LM car to hug the twisties, its tuffer to tune than i thought, got my tuned Z-06 set for the twisties, just finished with the Audi R8...sweet car! Got my RX-8 and RX-7 handeling like there on rails. Got my F430 to handle pretty well, just needs more umpf on the strait aways. The Amuse S2000 is a pretty sweet car out the box, minimal tweeks here and there. Trying to make the F40 to turn, very touchy car ....
So how are you guys enjoying it GT5 P? For those of you with the wheel, was it worth it?

I don't know why you keep bringing this point up. I am not aware of any cars with a 7 speed gearbox that isn't one of these three: fully automatic/sequential/paddles. How would having a gated shifter affect anything? Unless you're talking about a car with a 7 speed gearbox that was gated, then yes, it would not be very realistic and getting the G25 is somewhat hindered, since the H-shift is limited to 6 speeds + reverse. :uhh:
mysql 05-18-2008, 08:30 PM Trying to get my FordGT LM car to hug the twisties, its tuffer to tune than i thought
The trick is no sudden movements in the steering. Getting a wheel will help tame it.
kartweb 05-18-2008, 09:05 PM While my XBox was down I bought a G25 Wheel (replaced a Momo) at a local Gamestop to use with rFactor. Wow, its simply incredible. Force feedback is very realistic. Shifter is OK nothing to write home about, and having dirven sequentials in karts for a few years I like that better anyway. Rev-it & stuff it shifting but the clutch pedal is nice when you spin, especially an rFactor F1 car.
Leather wheel is a nice touch, literally.
Next time my Xbox blows a solder joint I may buy a PS3. Its my understanding the PS4 is due out in December so hopefully the Xbox holds out until next January or so.
GT5 is pretty good but its still got too many bugs and not enough content. Its like they sold a demo version to show that they've got an awesome package coming. No question about it, GT5 will raise the bar for racing sims.
mysql 05-18-2008, 09:12 PM Its my understanding the PS4 is due out in December so hopefully the Xbox holds out until next January or so.
what? lol. You might want to double check on that.
mysql 05-18-2008, 09:16 PM Sony Computer Entertainment of America president Kaz Hirai:
Hirai: The pricing that we announced for the PlayStation 3 is a price that ultimately offers fantastic value to the consumers. I think that we are offering a very good value for the consumers. We look at our products having a 10-year life cycle, which we've proven with the PlayStation. Therefore, the PlayStation 3 is going to be a console that's going to be with you again for 10 years. We're not going to ask the consumers to suddenly buy another PlayStation console in five years' time and basically have their investment go by the wayside.
CNET: Are you saying that there won't be a PlayStation 4 within five years?
Hirai: Well, I think that if you look at the history of the way we've managed our console business, we always try to hit a 10-year life cycle. I can't speculate on when we might come out with a new console after PlayStation 3. But my message is that once you become a family in the PlayStation family of products, you become a family member. We make sure that we take care of you.

So how are you guys enjoying it GT5 P? For those of you with the wheel, was it worth it?
Yeah, the 111R is an excellent handler and is fun to drive. The F40 is true to life being that it comes with turbo-lag followed by explosive power and extreme understeer. I haven't messed with the settings in it but you can't just jump into the F40 and dominate. By the 3rd race with it I was getting into the top three but it seems a little harder to drive than some of the other cars just like in real life. I'm saving up for the Amuse S2000 right now so I can't wait to see how it drives. The characteristics of each car seem so realistic - its amazing.
I'm thinking about the a wheel eventually (probably once I wear out GT5-P initially and maybe for GRID) but right now the standard controller gets the job done. I use the right stick for accelerate/brake instead of the buttons and it seems to give me perfect control.

Yeah the Amuse S2000 is a beautiful car, 617HP out of the box, you can't add any Hp to it, you can lighten, change the downforce on it, and change the handeling, and change the gear ratios. Its a blast to drive on Suzuka, but its very twitchy IMO in the "S" turns , simple tuning of the suspension fixed that. It will give any tuned Corvette or Viper a run for there money. The F40 is a tuff cookie to drive, i think its going to take some major tuning of the suspension to make it handle for the twisties. Love the straits of Daytona, hates the twisties!
On a side note, got the LM Ford GT to turn , had to lower the spring rating and damper setting almost to its lowest setting. Still maybe too much power(619HP) for the Suzuka track, feathering the throttle is a must. I took about 5% weight off.
I will see if lowering the Hp will help in the S turns. I am going through the S turns at an average of 69-74 mph. Thats still to slow for me when i can hit about 75-84 mph in the GTR, Corvette, Viper , my highest speed was 90 mph which was in the 111R Elise.... the car went through the S turns like there wasn't S turns there! Simply awesome little car!
mysql 05-19-2008, 01:39 PM the 111R Elise.... the car went through the S turns like there wasn't S turns there! Simply awesome little car!
The F1 car walks by every other car in the game like they weren't even moving. Some tracks I can go full throttle around all but one corner without slowing down - we're talking 180-200 mph all around. It's crazy.

Sounds like a blast to drive! Got to go ahead and finish the S -class, been tooling with so many cars and racing online , i kind of put the S-class to the side.:)
Can you tune the F1 car?
mysql 05-19-2008, 01:48 PM you can tune the crap out of the F1, but it's so powerful that the performance points on it even with weight added and hp removed is too much for the S tracks.
DailyDriver2k5 05-19-2008, 01:55 PM you can tune the crap out of the F1, but it's so powerful that the performance points on it even with weight added and hp removed is too much for the S tracks.
Wow that is lovely! Have you raced others onlines in the F1 class? And if so, how are the people when it comes to there driving style, are there many trying to drive clean , or are there alot of idiots trying to crash you?
Seem to me that the better drivers are in the expert class, the tools and idiots are in the beginner class, although you can tell when a few novice have finished the game and they come onto the expert class and want to crash into everybody, pisses me off! Then they find out the hardway that crashing is just a waiste of time.

Did you save up for this beast or is there any chance of winning big money or the F1 car down the road?
I'm progressing through the game slowly (part way thru the S-class) and buying and trying every car I desire along the way and it seems like a lot of work to reach the 2 million (I think?) needed for the F1 car.
mysql 05-19-2008, 04:26 PM if you do the online games, you can join and hope others get disconnected. Or you can painfully circle the daytona S-class race once every 4:18 to get 32k.

I haven't even gone online yet - I didn't even think about that. With my crap broadband though I would probably be the one getting disconnected. I'm definitely familiar with the 32K Daytona one though. Everytime I fire the game up now I run 3 or 4 of those to get some quick cash.

Play alot of online races, you will reach 2 million pretty quickly. Even if you screw up a race and place 5th -10th place you will still get 20k.
mysql 05-20-2008, 09:46 AM btw, someone asked me earlier if the F1 is adjustable. I mistakenly said it's fully adjustable.
I played last night and you can't adjust the hp or weight. You also can't adjust the turning angle. So it's a bit more limited than some of the other cars in what you can change.
I also found that if I made the front and rear spoiler on the lowest setting I could hit 220-230 mph on daytona track. I managed a time of 3:25 or so - lapping the other vehicles more than twice.

Yeah, it's pretty hard. The S-2 event was nearly impossible. It took me a handful of days to crack that one. I think I got lucky. The two 700PP races are even harder. I think it'll take me a long time to crack those two on Professional Physics without assists.

DailyDriver2k5 05-22-2008, 11:07 AM Can you pick who you race with? I thought the server just randomly selects your competitors.
Correct, you almost have to send your buddies a message and say that I will be on the Suzuka Expert Class 750. As long you pick that track, 9 out of 10 times you and your buddies will be on the same server. My brother and I do it all the time when we want to race each other. Unless there is a connection failure , you will be on the same race track, class, etc , but you will be bumped to another server with diffrent people. Usually after you complete that race , you could get back on the same server with your buddies.
One thing I like about the Suzuka track , only the die hard enthusiast run that track most of the time, newbies and the racers who are scared of turns will run it once, then they will disconnect. But you will find everybody and there grandmother on the Daytona oval or High Speed ring, were basic skill level and a really fast car will easily gain you a win.

It's especially redonkulous with the Ford GT in the DualShock 3... the second I lift off the gas and do some minor corrective steering I'm flipping around like a tea saucer.
I do agree though, the way to win on the high-speed ring is understanding your car's speed limit, turn-in, and exits on the smaller curves.

Yeah, the Ford GT (stock) is pretty tough to drive. The throttle application needs to be extremely judicious. I also happen to think the modeling for this car isn't very good. On the other hand, the F40, another high output mid-engined car is supremely controllable.
JRichter 06-03-2008, 11:51 AM I love taking the Art Morrison '60 Vette to the Daytona Speedway 700 Intermediate Online. It usually slots me in first (unless an F40 is in the race) and this car pulls away from everything for the first complete lap until others start drafting each other to catch up. It is so stiff in the corners and very stable so when the idiots start trying to bump you, the car simply holds it's ground and they usually wreck. You can also hold long drifts at 165mph through the banks which throws up a wall of smoke making difficult for the cars behind you to see whats going on.
Also I was surprised at how quick the Tuned Renault Clio can be. The acceleration when the settings on this car is maxed out is pretty good and doesn't have a problem what-so-ever keeping up with most of the $250k plus tuned cars on most of the tracks if you can feather the throttle out of turns.
Amuse S2000 is still my go-to car though for the more technical tracks
I'm ready for GT5 now but looks like another year. Anyone know if cars/tracks will be added to GT5-P until then? This Prologue game would probably keep me satisfied for that long if they would just add the full Nürburgring Nordschleife to it.

GT5:P will have some updates later this year. Better network racing/party set up will be one of them, and crash modeling will be another.
With the release of FW 2.40 coming pretty soon, I'm fairly sure we might see some trophy support. (http://kotaku.com/5012056/report-in+game-xmb-for-ps3-is-otw)
In terms of a few additional tracks and cars? It's up in the air, they haven't said anything about it. But maybe they'll throw us a bone for Christmas and give us a few surprises.

so, within the past couple of weeks since posting last here, I've jumped into online racing and finally racked up $2m credits. My thoughts? the online racing is alright, definitely in the expert levels people are more courteous to passing and bumping (and I try to be as well) despite a few errors. but there still are a few dorks out there that do the ramming and pushing.
either because of my connection (wireless NAT 2), or just the lack of interest in the expert races, most of my races only tend to have 2-3 people racing. Only a few times has it come up with 4, 5 or more people and those races are pretty good and entertaining.
Like Jrichter said, there are some cars that are just extremely good. The tuned Clio V6 is one of them, as well as a few of the Mitsubishi EVOs. To me, I see these cars a lot and I can only think of them as "cheater cars" for lack of a better term. They are great cars, but the people that are driving them are rambunctious and running on walls, into people and just keep coming up and leading races no matter how "bad" they drive.
Also, maybe it's just car comparisons, but sometimes I feel that RX-8s and RX-7s that are supposed to be equally rated to other cars, simply are not equal at all (like when different cars are supposed to be rated at 600points). I know there's a lot to take into account for each car, like weight, tunning etc. But there have been more than a few matches where the car ratings are equal, but a car will beat me with about 10 seconds a lap. Of course, it could just be that I suck driving too. :P
finally, does anyone have any insight to car settings that they would like to share? More specifically, I'm interested to see how people use the aids like traction control, ABS, steering help, etc in the professional physics mode. I'm not a big fan of traction control (and I have it off on standard physics), but I find in the professional physics mode, I have to have it on at a medium setting- and I wonder if it's helping or limiting the car.
michael
JRichter 06-05-2008, 04:15 PM I just saw this here (http://www.gtplanet.net/nurburgring-special-edition-of-gt5-prologue/) about the Nordschleife and I got excited at first but pretty much agree with what they are saying about how it probably wouldn't make it to prologue. If they give us anything as far as cars or tracks, though, I'll be happy.
At first it seemed like getting to 2 million would be boring and tedious but once I started racing online I would have racked up a half million in one sitting before I new it.
Right now I run standard physics and never like using any assists except maybe ABS. I started on Professional but reverted back to Standard for this reason. On previous GT games I looked to GTPlanet (http://www.gtplanet.net/) forums to compare detailed tuning settings and haven't checked out the GT5-P section yet but will probably do this weekend.

C Ya L8r 07-20-2008, 05:21 PM Hollo all. I just got hooked on online racing. other than a couple of kids smashing you around its not to bad. I sent freind requests to all i could find.:lol2:
yushinrt 07-20-2008, 05:23 PM i got all the car now lol and i play only online now lol.
hay did you guys end up buying a strearing wheel ? i brought me self a g25 and it been great
Socket7 07-26-2008, 05:23 AM Those of you looking at the G25 wheel, Don't get it. The gated shifter doesn't work in most games, and neither does the clutch. Also, the force feedback is strong, but it's not very realistic.
The one you really want is http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/gaming/playstation_3/devices/4172&cl=us,en
The force feedback is much better on the driving force GT.
nycgps 07-26-2008, 07:41 AM I just got my RX-8 Type S in InitialD Extreme Stage ... hoho
its not as real as GT5 of course, but I get to vs people around the world. not bad (mostly japanese, cuz its a japan-only game, but meh who cares)

Jedi54 08-01-2008, 12:13 PM random gripe: I can't seem to beat my buddy when he's driving a stupid Evo! That thing just kills me coming out of the corners.
On a side note: if you do a high speed track, that Evo doesn't stand a chance against an 8. Higher top speed FTW!

Cool. I didn't see that yet. I'm about ready for some more content to breath a little life into GT5-P - hopefully we'll see some of the cars in their before GT5 comes out. I haven't played GT5-P in a couple of weeks which is rare for me.

JRichter 08-01-2008, 03:39 PM GT5 Prologue Update Coming August 1
http://www.gtplanet.net/gt5-prologue-update-coming-august-1/
Polyphony Digital has just posted a special news release to their Japanese site - a downloadable update to Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (the Japanese version, at least) will be available on August 1, 2008. Aside from the updates to the Gran Turismo TV service, which we will cover in another post, here’s the primary new features that you can look forward to:
* Improved penalty judgments in online races.
* Improved collision physics in online races.
* Improved handling characteristics for S1-S3, and R1-R3 tires
* New calculation rules for performance points.
* 6 new songs added to the soundtrack.
* Players matched in Online races now added to the [Friends] -> [Players Met] menu within Playstation 3.
* The time and score from replays of time trials, drift trials, and distributed demo replays are now displayed after their replay.
* From the latest screenshots, a new “location” for your selected car appears to have been added to the main menu screen.
There is still, unfortunately, no word on using your own music in-game or making any use of the PlayStation Network’s “trophy system”. See the full press release, with all of the new features and changes, after the jump.
Gran Turismo 5 in 2010
http://www.gtplanet.net/gran-turismo-5-in-2010/
In a very interesting statement at E3 today, GT series creator Kazunori Yamauchi brought us both good and bad news. The good news is that he confirmed that the Polyphony Digital team was focusing nearly all of their efforts on Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, working hard to bring us features like vehicular damage, private online races, new tracks, and more cars. Of course, there ain’t no such thing as a free lunch, and he added that these updates could push the full version of Gran Turismo 5 back into 2010. He also confirmed that Gran Turismo Mobile, for the PSP, is still in “active development” but probably not be released until after Gran Turismo 5 (in other words, 2011).
Bottom line: Good news GT5-P will get lots of updates including content, Bad news this is because GT5 full version will be pushed back to 2010. :tear: Oh well, I'm sure it will be well worth the wait.
Jedi54 08-01-2008, 03:49 PM no GT5 till 2010? :(
mtrevino 08-01-2008, 06:12 PM GT5 Prologue Update Coming August 1
* Improved penalty judgments in online races.
* Improved handling characteristics for S1-S3, and R1-R3 tires
* New calculation rules for performance points.
These are the three I'm really looking at to see how they improved. Like you mention in your last post, anything with AWD, despite how even performance points were, was just faster than anything on the track.
Looks like I've got some playing to do this weekend.

alfy28 10-05-2008, 01:17 AM I am not sure how any can play with a controller. today i decided to play GT5p with controller, since i let my brother borrow my g25 wheel. i tell you, drifting with a controller is not fun.
so here is my attempt to drift with the controller. you can watch the replay since i am the only person who using the amuse on this track. i circled parts on the pic that you need to change, so you can pick the right track etc. usually my score on this track is 14.5k (with wheel) so i am like 7k short.
usually i would drift the opposite way (to get most points on turns) then drift with the turn. but with controller its just way to hard for me that is. maybe after getting use to controller ill start doing it my old way.
once you select the right track, car etc bring the cursor down to name box and hit x. then you will be able to select my name.
http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f201/alfy27/amuse.jpg
JRichter 10-06-2008, 03:27 PM ^ Yeah, I tried the drifting briefly (i only have a controller) and didn't have much success (doesn't feel natural at all) so have left that mode alone until I get a wheel. I need to check your replay out if its still up - I didn't realize you could do that. Anyone tried the 3 new cars yet? I've only been able to afford the Lotus so far as I decided to start the game all over again out of boredom. I've got some racing to do to get the 1,000,000 cr Citroen GT.
dynamho 10-06-2008, 06:00 PM Which online events do you usually race at? I'm usually on any of the Professional Physics events, with Suzuka being my preferred venue.
The Beginner events have a lot of dirty racers and is not fun at all. The bozos start to thin out as difficulty increases.
JRichter 10-07-2008, 09:41 AM ^ yeah same here. I haven't been online yet much this time around but a few months ago I would always do the same events you mentioned with Suzuka being my fav.
dynamho 10-07-2008, 10:30 AM I'm online quite often in the evenings or early morning. Hope to meet you there.
Jedi54 10-15-2008, 04:00 PM bumpety bump!
broke out GT5 again, havin' a blast with my new toys:
- Audi R8
- Ferrari 430
- Nissan GT-R
- Ford GT
JRichter 10-15-2008, 04:47 PM I started the game completely over (after playing a few various other racing games its good to be back) and have tried some of the new cars. The Lotus Evora isn't bad though I thought I would be a little faster. The Ferrari California is a boat (a fast boat) that I guess doesn't handle too bad but I had to turn a little traction control on to keep from drifting (when I didn't want to - but if you want to drift, this car is hilarious) on high speed corners in profess mode. It also seems like I'm driving something like a '59 Caddy drop-top when looking back in the interior view - the top of the back seat is so high you can't see anything behind you, I think I'll stick w/ the 599. Don't have enough money for the Citroen GT yet...
It may be my imagination but it seems like the last update to the physics made the steering quite a bit more sensitive anyways I still want a wheel. Once I get a few more of my favorite cars I'll be online in the Professional Physics events mainly on the weekends.
alfy28 10-15-2008, 05:17 PM ^ Yeah, I tried the drifting briefly (i only have a controller) and didn't have much success (doesn't feel natural at all) so have left that mode alone until I get a wheel. my score is higher now for that track (went to normal 2 and 3). but still using controller. also check out london track on normal (not reverse) mode. i think i am rank 6 out of a 100+ on amuse s2k. i would of got 2nd place, but att he beginning of turn 2 i hit the wall before started to drift. i just left it at 6ht place . most frustating track due to how tight the road is.
but yah, once you get use to the controller, it starts to feel very natural.
as for the 3 cars, i just bought the ferrari, fun car to drift. one thing i just hate is since i use cockpit view being on LHD side, my view at looking at the right side of car is hard to see vs right side

private online races . we have to get our own room. so we can jsut drfit the whole track :) together. my friends taht i grew up from japan are very excited for this feature.
DailyDriver2k5 10-16-2008, 09:04 AM ^
Count me in as well...:)
Jrichter , what is you online ID again?
I need to wipe the dust off this game knowing that there is the new update.
JRichter 10-16-2008, 09:32 AM ^ Same name, JRichter. Send me an invite and I will add.
dynamho 10-16-2008, 10:46 AM The gearing is very tall on the Evora, but it handles predictably well.
Having all aids off in professional physics mode, I find the California very engaging to drive. Feels like a mid-engined car. It's not as easy to drive as say the Fiorano, but if you drive both back to back, Fiorano relatively understeers next to California.
California accelerates extremely well and the 7 speed dual clutch transmission really helps here. However, if you lose the rear end at high speed, it's challenging to get it back in line. alfy28 would do well here. He's a drifter.
Jedi54 10-16-2008, 12:12 PM it's official, the GT by Citreon is absolute HACKS!!! that thing is insanely fast.
I love smashing the brakes, coming to a full stop, and hearing that crazy engine rev.

Yeah, pulling out of a draft at 200 mph on a banked curve can send this car ridiculously out of control, but its definitely a blast to drive (I laugh out loud at the replays of this car drifting, spinning etc. while seeing the driver shuffle the steering wheel in a frenzy). I wonder if the stability would be any better if you could drive w/ the top up.

alfy28 10-29-2008, 09:58 PM Well found out some new info about GT5
http://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=111878
[I]Y simply said its gonna be in GT5
- then i said GT5!!!! Ohh my God !! thats way to far from now.
- "he laughed" and said : why are you saying that ?
-Me: because of what i know is that the team still didn't think even of targeting a release date for GT5 and to be honest i dont believe GT5 will come before 2 years which is a long time/
-K.Y : "2 years hahaha, no no. dont worry much about that its gonna be sooner than expected"
- Me : any hint about when?
K.Y: he laughed again and said soon.
-Me: how do you get the feedback from the gamres of the game ?
-K.Y: we have a staff that surfs the internet specially looking for such detailes, collected from reviews, forums ....etc.
-Me: is it these informations taken only from japanese gamers?
K.Y: No, we also look into europe and the u.s gamres
Me: any near update coming to GT5 Prologue?
K.Y: we just released the Spec 3 update and about future update there is for sure.
Me: is it soon ?
K.Y: "smiled" we will anounce it in our website before there is any update. but we will anounce the information only before an update is goin to be released in a couple of days like what we did in spec 3. even GT5 will release at the same way "laughing" we will do every thing as a surprise.
Me: about being able to have our own private room for racing is it coming soon ? a 1000's of people were hoping such a feature is coming to the last update (spec3). and i think its the most important feature that the game should consist . rather than what we do now from syncronizing our watches just to meet our friends on a race (and i explained to him how)
K.Y: "laughed" thats crazy but also that feature is coming to GT5 for sure .
Me: ok there is one question that have never been asked before, and a detail that had never been officialy mentioned any where. which is the "catch up mode" or "Boost" as GT4 stated it, some people call it "Rubber band effect" whats the deal with that ? everyone is annoyed of it , is there is any chance to get rid of it in the future?
K.Y: "ahhaaa" we but that feature to allow a fair race for everyone for instance, if you started in the 16th position in a rooling start at fuji-speedway there is no way to win the race. also it does help but not that much. its only active when the gap is huge (more than 2 seconds). also there were some event that the RBE were not active. we will only remove it completly only when there is going to be a qualifying laps to sent every on position in the starting grid. Plus only very good and proffesional players will like playing without it active.
Me : what does it actually do ? is more grip ? or more speed ? for the left behind cars . or less grip, speed for the leading car?
K.Y: its a compination of both grip and speed for both.
then he asked me whats your favorite track in the game?
i told him suzuka .
then he said ok .. then we'll but an event called super-proffesional-event where the RBE will be disabled just for you "and he smiled"
then i asked him about porsche and lamporghini's are they goin to be in the game? why isn't already?
K.Y: the thing is we are working on it , because like the porsche have some contracts with other games manufacturer, and those contracts has just ended so its possible for us now to negotiate.
Me : what about the damage feature ? how far is it?
K.Y :thats also coming. the negotiations are taking place already. the only problem is that some manufacturer like porsche (NOTICE HE SAID PORSCHE, DOES THAT MEAN SOMTHING ALREADY HAPPINING) say's its ok to crash and total our cars we have no problem, and other manufacturer like Ferrari say's : we won't allow you to show some damage on our cars even if its the side view mirror damage .
then i asked him : is there is anything you can show me that have never been anounced. or anything new?
K.Y: what would you like to see?
Me: Nurbargring maybe..!
then we walked to the console and started it, and it started as some data base with alot of cars names and alot of tracks, me and my friend tried hard to look into the list, what i can say is that there were a lot of cars.
he asked me what car to chose. i said F430. then he started the game and said here you go give it a try
i was about to cry that moment. a full lap in ferrari F430 at the Nurburgring and K.Y him self watching me .
after i finished a full lap he said wait ...... he changed somthing and said here you go .. its the lemans track give it a try.
everything was happening like a dream to me my mind stoped thinking whats going on
after i finished a full lap at leman's track.
i thanked him for his time and toke a couple of pictures with him .
but the surprises didn't stop there.
he bring to me a Ceramic-White PlayStaion3 console and a White PSP and said "if you have some space in the airplane you can take it with you this CW PS3 model havent been released yet in the market (i think he mean the japanese market)
i asked him for a signature on the PS3 and the PSP and he said yes sure
that was one day that i'll never forget, i really had fun. he was dealing with us as a friends.
i know i missed a lot of questions i didn't mentioned here but this is what i remember and most important info.
guys please forgive me if my english isn't that good, its my second spoken language. so please take it easy on me about the grammer and the spelling thing
Peace
