Fellow Posters!!

I believe we may well have a world champion in our midst. By my accounting, Dez has set the world record for shortest elapsed time to 50 posts. 4 days as far as I can tell, maybe less if we count actual hours

And in case you haven't noticed, these aren't the 3 word posts some of us are famous for.

Well Done Dez ... I think you are a cert to captain our one day team this summer...

Hymee - Is there some award we can bestow ??

Interesting....Hmmm do you mean the DSM-IV and by the way are you an Axis I or an Axis II? Hopefully the former, Axis II is much more difficult and complex to treat.

Great work Dez,

Whilst I don't know if there is any offical counter for post rate etc, I have observed his posts are better than a lot of one liners. Good work.

Awards? I don't know if I have found the count++ button yet ;) Perhaps well let him choose his own Username :p

Keep up the quality posts guys.

Cheers,
Hymee.

shucks.. Rob, Hymee, L&L, timbo, takahashi, et al..

I'm flattered - really - I assure you that it was not my aim to set any form of records. There's just so many great things to talk about when it comes to these great little cars.

But thanks for noticing I guess - I hope that my being somewhat less terse than the average post doesn't piss anyone off.

The witty quick one liners are always fun, but I usually find myself thinking aloud as it were about a great deal to do with the RX8 and it's just great to have a crew to bounce the thoughts off.

I am planning though to start posting some of my recent homework if that sits well with y'all, starting with some of the gizmo's and software I've been looking into getting to pull telemetry out of the car etc.

And of course I'll be posting follow up's from the homework with actual real in the fleash test results as I start to buy and write some tools to actually do something real and intersting.

But hey - just great to be here - and I'm really really looking forward to meeting all of you some time in the near future I hope !!

Cheers,

++dez;

ps: at least you didn't peg me for not only being a complete and utter OCD case for my poinst times * grin * - really - it's ok to post at 3am - my shrink said so * grin *

If you think that's impressive, I just had a look at the top 10 posters in the "members" section, and mikeb has averaged 36.87 posts per day!!

Dez,

I'm looking forward to being able to hook into the OBDII port as well and linking up with some software like EFI live. Let us know how things go.

Cheers,
Hymee.

Hymee:

count on it - I'm a data junkie ( why else would one run a search engine as a 'pet project' * grin * ).

D.G.W.:

well, I have a life - but I don't know mikeb [ yet ] - perhaps he's got RX8 feavor stronger than I do - but I have to say that as someone who's never previously been a web forum junkie, or a car person - the day my wife said "for got sake just go buy a nice car will you!" was a day I turned a whole new page in the book of this crazy old little life!

Dez - I hear ya. I'd never looked under the bonnet of a car or been to a web forum either until I got my '8. Now I'm OBSESSED!

Dez

D.G.W. ,

hee hee - I have to admit that I have a Gigabit Ethernet socket in the back of my head, and an 802.3g 54 Megabit Wireless antenna build into my skull, so the whole network and internet thing was a 'been there - doin it' thing for me - it's kinda part of what I do.

but the forum thing - I never really caught the bug, prior to rx8 land, I just didn't see what it was all about - more fool me really.

as for the bonent, shit, I have people who do that - I wasn't wanting to put them out of a job, right?

but now.. oh baby!

anyone even looking at my car gets the old "what you looking at?! you're not thinking of asking to look under the bonnet are you!?" evil eye of Dez!

and as for my over night addiction of 'this' particular web forum.. shit.. Rob 'outed' me the other day.. I hadn't really noticed but apparently I clocked up almost as many post as I had 100 km's per day in my car in the first few days.. sigh.. I've got issues..

lord knows what's going to happen now that I'm running around looking at sucking data from my OBD2!!

you've heard of Obi Wan Kanobi?

step aside, here comes Obi Dee Two!

* set your phasers to stun! *

bugger.. make that "802.11g" in previous post.. not "802.3g" - IEEE will be issuing me with a posting fine I'm sure!

now I can wear big boys underpants!

time to edit my "title" from Senior Member ( that just has such a weird phalic connotation ) to "Chief Pilot" * grin *

What prey tell is the "mikeb" approach to boosting post count numbers? I could hazard a guess but are we talking one word one line cut and pasting blasted accross every conceivable thread?

I hate to say that I'm currently getting less and less time to read the history of posts here - I'm on a mission to read the entire history of posts as there's actually bloody amazing amount of good material if you can sift through the one liners..

MikeB's approach is that never say in two words what you could say with one ...

To each his own I guess ..

Rob

PS .. look .. not a single mention of the bananaaaa .. d'oh ... just when we were going to be free of the bent references too...

I always wonder why people choose to use a small word when a diminutive one would do?

I reckon mikb has an auto-response system whic slots in "cool", "post pics" etc through a carefully designed, context sensitive forum reading tool. Hey, I'll bet it's all software and there is no mikeb.

HEY, MIKEB, IF YOU REALLY EXIST, POST PICS!! :D

Actually he did... there is a self-pics thread with a picture of mikeb and some nice looking lady.

timbo - I was waiting to see if you picked up on that little subtle fact..

you get the banana.. I've been wondering when I coudl pass it on after Hymee awarded it to me..

yes, mikeb is real, and according to the pictures.. he's real.. but I wonder what on earth he does for a living as boy, that guy's posting like he's a letter folder!

++dez;

ps: so are you up for a two car drive to Qld for L&L's 50? I'm hoping to convince atleast one ir not two others to convoy north with me..

Am not sure just now. Dec 15 is a critical date for a company project, and I'm not making any commitments for the preceding two weekends.

Timbo,

bugger.. I'm still looking at a lone drive it seems..

I'm dreading that the forum by self definition becomes "lingua factiosi, inertes opera" when surely we should all be driving..

Ah, dear RX8.. "Ama me fideliter, Fidem meam noto, Decorde totaliter, Et ex mente tota, Sum presentialiter, Absens in remota!"

++dez;

timbo

Stop that, dez -- you'll go blind! :D

Yeah, well IMO car clubs are for the driving stuff -- forums are for information exchange, especially the fact you can engage with people across the globe.

I never did find out what the actual post count was before I could edit my title from Senior Member to whatever I make up on the day..

I'm guess it was around the 150 or 200 mark.
