I'm a regular poster at rx7club.com and nopistons.com (mod there also). Started working at Wayne Mazda a while ago and figured I'd post up to let you know that there is a true rotor head working in there now lol. I currently have a 94 chaste white fd, big streetport, standalone, tons of fuel, t04z etc that i somewhat daily drive as well as my big project 89 t2 (my regular DD is an evo ix, but dont tell my mazdas that lol).

I do the majority of rx8 jobs there although i definitely dont do all of the rx8 work.

Figured in case any of you guys need something explained further as to why the dealer would say something warranty-wise or whatever then i can help you understand where theyre coming from.

I'm also pretty good at diagnosing rx8 problems before i even see the car lol.

chrism: yea i saw your car a couple times. Next time you come by just request me by name too the writer (Kevin, in case you forgot). I read they wouldnt change your oil but im sure i can lift it and not damage anything, my fd is almost on the ground and i can lift it fine.

Also if mike's your writer he normally makes sure i do all the real work on his rx8 customers.

Clavius: meh mechanic, tech, same thing. although honestly almost 50% of my day is spent on a computer interpreting the car's info.
As far as moving to massachusetts im actually aiming to move to the carolinas in a few years.

Also as a side note I have a rather large shop at my house in case anyone needs something installed for low price. its where i build all my cars.

I work every day 7-5. The only day off I have is every other saturday, this saturday is my day off, next saturday I'll be working.

We get business cards with 10% coupons (for service or parts) on them, I'll be at the next bear mountain meet and I'll be handing them out to whoever would like one.

hey teknics good to know bro. I am taking in my BB 8 on saturday (8 AM) for the recal to be done. If you are there it would be cool to meet if you are around.

woops just noticed you aint in this saturday, lol. But it is nice to know you can deff do the oil changes thats cool. I know last time they were uneasy about wanting to put chris's car onthe lift. i am fairly low to the ground now as well so I didnt fgo there to get my oil change recently. But it is nice to know you will take care of it if i need to in the future.

yea i'll be around soon to. need a new upper control arm due to the ball joint going to the pooper. need my rack checked, rear sway bar and endlink checked :banghead:

snipaz: yea Ive been looking for your car since you mentioned the balljoint and sway bar link problem. I've finally cleaned up most of my held over stuff, have one rx8 that i have to do a few little things to but other then that my schedule is finally clear. I'll be looking for you tomorrow. If you can try to talk to the service writer mike and request me specifically, he normally tries the hardest to ensure i work on cars that request me, other writers couldnt care less sometimes

klepto: did you come in on saturday and get the TSB performed? If not try to talk to the service writer mike, he'll try to make sure I work on your car and he (after today with chrism) now understands about the TSB.

chrism: Hey yea it was great to meet ya today, i mentioned it in another post but figured id reiterate, sorry for being brief today i was on my last nerve with my manager and the car i was stuck working on. Normally I like to take time out and talk with the rx8 owners. If anything I'll catch up with you at a meet or something. Luckily I walked into the office when I did lol I saw mike telling you you needed a no start to get the TSB and went straight to our warranty rep and got his approval, i explained the TSB in full to him near the end of the day. Sometimes the guys there are hesitant when it comes to rx8's and their motors and tsb's.

Also next time I'm at a meet I'll bring my business cards with me and hand them out to all your 8 owners, the card gets you 10% off any servioce or parts purchase and it'll help you remember to ask specifically for me so someone who knows and udnerstands the car will work on it.

yea I double checked your car today, everyone is just lazy, i can definitely lift your car just not in 2 seconds like all the stock cars lol.

Like i said, i can lift my fd and that car tucks its wheels into the fenders, cant make it over a speedbump, i mean seriously is maybe 2 inches or so from the ground, maybe a tad more.

im about 4 or 5 inches now that i put the 19's on.....but im glad we got some one on our side there looking out.....i would not hesitate to tell people where they can and will get taken care of

yea hopefully i wake up in time, i gotta get down there to prep my car for the dyno, hoping to break 500hp on my first tune, but i think i might run out of fuel pump so I'll probably settle at around 470hp slap in a second pump and throw it back up there.

still debating whether to install my water injection kit or not. Gonna see how the tuner feels.

Wow it's nice to see a rotary guy @ Wayne and posting in the forums.

I requested for the MSP 16 service I think it was March 22 (it was definitely a Saturday).. The service writer didn't seem to know about it and very nearly made me come back on a weekday to leave my car for a day or 2 to do the service! He said they didn't have a tech. person that day also. I pointed out that I have finishline's PDF (I carried my laptop in the car too!) and it wouldn't take more than half an hour to do. After talking with others and probably checking the info on the service, he took back what he said.. then I saw my car move in the service area and I think he said "oh I didn't know Kevin's in already" and that was that.

I had the VR '07 GT.. it was playing trance music when you drove it I bet :lol2: it had the plates HUMMMMM.. anyway.. you didn't affix the sticker for the flash service you were supposed to! Haha not that big a deal but I checked my door jamb and hood over and over for the sticker after I drove home. Thanks for being there and flashing my car :)

my 8 has been at wayne since 10am. man they are awesome! kevin i hope you are taking good care of my baby:)

no i dropped the car off and left wayne lol. they just called me and said they have to overnight a new ball joint and they are going to hold the car until tomorrow :tear: . so tomorrow i will find out how everything went:fingersx:

Kelrx8: saturday April 12, is my day off i get every other saturday off, thank god :) I should be stopping in early in the day to prep my FD for the dyno making sure everything is running perfect so I might wind up seeing you anyway.

gundarx: Yea i'm pretty sure I worked on your car, not 100% positive tho.
As for the sticker, unfortunately ATM we're out of all the stickers, stock order supposively comes in on tuesday so we should have more then, dont worry tho a record of all that work sticks with the car forever

cliff: yea everything went pretty good, unfortunately we didnt have the upper control arm in stock so i had to overnight it for tomorrow so we can finish it all up. I sent you a PM going over the service in good detail. Everyone at the shop was going ga-ga over your brakes lol.

As a reference BTW i was able to lift your car easily, not sure if chris's is lower then yours or not.

But yea your car should be done before lunchtime tomorrow as the part *should* arrive at around 9:30am. Definitely nice setup on the car too congrats on the setup.

lol thats pretty funny about the brakes. i just had them installed about a week ago so i still drool over them. chris's car is a little lower than mine i think but i dont really remember how much by. thanks for props on the setup! you are the man!

your car isnt dropped as low as mine......coilovers are nice to have......but now i may have to try and steal the brakes cuz i dont want the hood no more

ok so it seems ill be stopping by tomorrow to get my non working dash diagnosed....nothing is working, heat, radio, temp read out, etc

i'll be in again to. no power steering. chris hopefully he can fix you fast so they kevin can help us both

Quick and painless day today at Wayne for me. Although Kevin didn't work on my car today (first time!) service was okay. Believe the dude's name was Anthony. Took about 3 hours to get the radiator fan assembly replaced, glad my car isn't running like shit anymore though. :)

Also got 2 new headlights ordered under warranty because mine are all hazy.

Kevin, i wanted to bring this up but I forgot.. is a broken glovebox warrantied?
