View Full Version : Vouchers ??
Car arrived and ready for pick-up on saturday!! Yipeee!!!
HOWEVER, as per usual with Mazda there does appear to be a slight catch. I've been told by my dealer that I need a Voucher to prove that I've placed a £1000 deposit. When I asked what exactly this was I was informed that it had "all gone rather hazy" in the dealership and no one quite knew what it was.
Spoke ot Mazda Uk and they tell me it's part of the welcome pack but had absolutley NO idea which bit it was.
I read on the delivery date post about some similar probs but I've still no idea what we need to get this bloody car!!!
HELLS BELLS, so close to getting it.
One would hope if you turn up with a pack and or some sort of credit card/bank statement, that should do it.
ploszek 11-06-2003, 11:25 AM I originally raised the voucher problem and have been in touch with Mazda UK about it. Apparently there was a voucher in the welcome pack (which I cannot vouch for because I never got a pack). There was some confusion as to whether the dealer should have given me this voucher in the first place (how could he? I ordered through the internet site) or not.
The long and the short of it was that Mazda UK were going to contact dealers and sort out the problem. If you don't have a voucher, the dealer can still get his money by filling in the appropriate section in the faxback form he sends back to Mazda UK.
OK - I'm still confused as well, but I am assured that I don't need to do anything and the lack of said voucher can be sorted out between the dealer and Mazda UK without my involvement.
Lensman 11-06-2003, 12:29 PM Yes, it's in the welcome pack. It is a receipt for the deposit and forms part of the small booklet that details your order. Luckily I still have mine which should prove useful next week (please!).
That little booklet that's got a picture of the car you ordered, is that the one??
Now I'm sure that's lying around the hosue somewhere but I'm buggered if I know where.
Mazda did mention something about the dealer being able to fax back a form to them but my dealer is denying any knowledge of this.
I'll report back to let you know if I've found aforementioned "voucher" after turning house upside down trying to find the bloody thing.
Murphy 11-06-2003, 01:31 PM I think this is the page of the booklet they must be referring to...

Yes, that's it.
You'd have taken more care of it if you'd realised it was worth £1000 right? ;)
To be fair to Mazda they did say in the accompanying letter that it has to be produced at the dealership and not to lose it. Always read the small print (or the normal print in this case).
Fair comment!!
Found it though after ONLY 2 hours of searching!!!!
Roll on saturday
Nirolex 11-07-2003, 03:46 AM It's a bit daft to have an important bit of paperwork making up part of a glossy brochure that might easily be lent to someone and then lost, for example.
It really should have been an obvious, no bells-and-whistles piece of printed A4 receipt and then there would (should) be no doubt that it was important and should be kept IMHO...
That's Mazda marketing - market first, think later ;)
RobDickinson 11-07-2003, 03:59 AM Have to say I kept it as my "reciept" but just junked it in with all the other crap they've sent.
Didnt realize it was a voucher, or that the dealer needed it (as I'd paid the dealer direct IMO).
Have it safe and sound tho.
ploszek 11-07-2003, 04:07 AM Murphy - thanks for scan - it still doesn't match any correspondance I've had from Mazda. To be fair - our post is appaling with all sorts of things going missing including bank cards, so I don't doubt that they sent it.
morganrogers 11-07-2003, 04:28 AM I got my car Monday , and my dealer has called since to ask for this voucher. Seems without it they dont get their £1000 back from Mazda ! ! !
In fact he has called twice to ask if I have sent it yet !
Hang on to them chaps , they may not let you take your cars without them.
GarySargent 11-07-2003, 04:55 AM Does this voucher thing only apply to those ordering via the Internet - and not those that ordered through a dealer and gave their deposit to a dealer?

I ordered through a dealer. I still got the voucher.
From what the dealer said, I paid the £1k to the dealer, they then order on the internet and may MAzda UK the £1k, then I get voucher to give back to dealer so they can claim the £1k back from mazda UK.
Good job they kept the ordering simple...
AnilS 11-07-2003, 09:21 AM For those that have thier cars and the dealers wants the £1000 voucher.......hold onto it. They kept our £1000 for months, so let them know how it feels:D
AnilS.
Sexy Rexy 11-07-2003, 09:24 AM Totally agree with Anil S, let the dealers sweat it out for 10 months or so - one thing I can gurantee, if they don't receive these vouchers I recon we could receive letters for legal action lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!
morganrogers 11-07-2003, 10:00 AM Send them a letter describing your voucher , and how good it will be , and promise next time you write it will be with a voucher delivery date..... probably. ! :)
