View Full Version : HORRIBLE GUY: RedefineRX8 is a thief!!
poweredbyplaav 03-11-2008, 08:16 PM Attention RX-8 Community: BEWARE OF RedefineRX8!! This guy is a complete fraud!!!
I paid RedefineRX8 $375.00 for a used Greddy SP2 exhaust on January 31, 2008. Almost 2 weeks after paying him, he claimed that he had shipped it on February 12, 2008 via FedEx. I continuously asked for a tracking/confirmation number for the package, but he neglected to ever do so. He stated that FedEx gave him a promised delivery date of February 19, 2008. February 19 came along, and there was no package. I contacted him that day through email/message and he said to give him a call if the package does not show up the following day (February 20th). February 20th came by, and still nothing, so I decided to call him on the phone number he provided. He did not answer my call, so I left him a voice mail, and also emailed as well as instant messaged him that night. I have been trying to contact him every day ever since the 20th of February via phone, email, and instant message, and I still have not gotten a response from him. I opened a PayPal dispute, and he still did not respond, so I escalated it to Claims (meaning you give PayPal the permission to make the decision as to who wins the case). Well the claim closed in my favor today, but the seller (RedefineRX8) had already washed out his bank account.
He actually has positive feedback from another transaction, which got me to believe that he's a good guy but that was not the case at all. He stole my money and never responded or shipped anything!
People like him should not be allowed in the RX-8 community!!!!!!!
RedefineRX8 03-11-2008, 09:08 PM I severed two vertebre in my spine 2 weeks ago while snowboarding which is why I wasn't on the forums or even remotely near a computer. Now to this issue I actually had the exhaust RETURNED to me, because it wasn't accepted. I still have the HUGE fed ex box that was labeled in sitting in my living room. The address you gave me was incorrect, or whoever was supposed to sign for it never did, because it ended up coming back to me. Now you tell me what was up with that?
And yes, I do have positive feedback on here. Everyone else I have dealt with has given me accurate shipping destinations. Also for that matter, you KNEW i was having the huge issue with the original place I was ordered my new exhaust from to begin with. Ask anyone else how easy things went with me. Remind me next time I get shipped to the hospital and get scheduled to have back surgery to check my e-mail and browse forums all day. Sorry, thats not my priority.
Bottom line is, I'm out another 90 bucks because of the shipping I have an exhaust just sitting here and I'm not about to spend another 90 bucks to have it resent back to me. What do you want me to do about it?
I just went into my living and took a pic just to show everyone

poweredbyplaav 03-11-2008, 09:19 PM Now that i have reported you as a bad guy, you reply, after not hearing from you for over a month. How am i supposed to believe anything you say when you never gave me any kind of tracking number. As soon as I sent you your money, you stopped all communication. Dont tell me that you have not been near a computer since February 19 because I have seen you sign on over and over. You have even responded to other threads. You were dodging me the whole time.
RedefineRX8 03-11-2008, 09:22 PM I signed on the first time 5 days ago, when I got home. Check for yourself.
As I just said, you give me an ACCURATE address to ship this thing out to or we'll take care of it another way. Your call. I have nothing to gain with this exhaust just SITTING here doing nothing. You and I both know that. What do you want to do?
poweredbyplaav 03-11-2008, 09:24 PM I can give you an accurate address but I will need a working phone number as well as tracking number asap.
poweredbyplaav 03-11-2008, 09:24 PM why did you turn your phone off?
poweredbyplaav 03-11-2008, 09:25 PM i just said in the private message that i am going to call you, and you shut your phone off? come on man. we got to make this work.
RedefineRX8 03-11-2008, 09:30 PM Give me a number to call, that phone is shot ATM I can call from another.

laythor 03-11-2008, 11:36 PM how dare he break his back!
RedefineRX8 03-11-2008, 11:57 PM LOL
but really speaking it could have been a LOT worse. I laned right square on the edge of the halfpipe after losing control then straight to the bottom after... I'm glad I can still walk, just no more working on cars.
laythor 03-12-2008, 01:42 AM I fell off the roof of my parent's two story house once. There was a 4 x 8 planter surrounded by concrete and I was lucky enough to hit it dead center. foot to the right or left and I would have been fubar'd. Glad to to hear you came out better then could be expected!
dmc27 03-12-2008, 03:10 PM how dare he break his back!
Unfair. Maybe it was tongue in cheek, idk, but it seems like poweredbyplaav has very legitimate concerns.
It does sound like Redefine had a legit reason for the lack of communication, but there's no way OP could know any of that.
Hope it goes smoothly this time around, followed by
:grouphug:
Transam kid 01 03-12-2008, 06:00 PM Well instead of letting it sit in your living room and doing nothing about it, you could have attempted to make contact explaining how it was shipped back and asked for a corrected address. Or just returned his money.
Just my .02
RedefineRX8 03-12-2008, 06:35 PM I don't need your 2 cents, I don't listen to rainbows and unicorns.
Tracking number was supplied, FEDEx wouldn't even reship it because te guy remembered me and wouldn't send it to the same address so I had to go UPS. Finished.
